Roto Grip Wrecker / Shatter compared to Ebonite Cyclone
« on: February 24, 2013, 11:47:26 PM »
Hey all,

I have an Ebonite Cyclone right now, and keep hearing a lot of good things about Roto Grip.  I am a tweener/cranker throw about 16.5 mph, and have an insanely high amount of revs.

How does the Wrecker and/or Shatter compare to the cyclone?  The Wrecker / Shatter look almost identical, but wanted to see how they would react compared to the cyclone.

Thanks much!

I have a Cyclone and Shatter! The Cyclone for the money is a great ball, but I love the Shatter! The Shatter is more angular and gets down the lane further than the Cyclone! The Shatter is a pearl coverstock and the Wrecker is a Hybrid coverstock! I'm not sure of the amounts of solid/pearl ratio and maybe some of the Roto staffers or even Mustang guy can give us the amounts!

That's exactly why I was thinking of going with the Shatter, to get down the lane just a bit more, and have a bit higher entry angle.

Now, I'm wondering if the Wrecker has the same characteristics, except with it hooking a bit more?

The wrecker is just going to blend out the reaction a bit better, the shatter will be more angular off the spot, being that it is all pearl.  I bought the wrecker for control on lighter shots, and it does the job perfectly.

Id say the cyclone fits in between the shatter and wrecker.

I can say the 80 bux I spent on the wrecker was the 80 I ever spent on a ball!
