What is it technically that makes a mild ball like a Sonic hit so HARRRRD

Rack,
With our Sonic line we have designed a great core and cover combo again! Most balls this week have 3 or even 4 piece technology. We have stuck a big weight block inside this ball that still has some dynamics. If you look at the weight block and the numbers and then compare to other balls that have that outer core around them and just pucks you will see the numbers are the same but ours is still 2 piece technology. So this weight block is going to continue through the pins harder and have less deflection then any 3 piece or 4 piece technology. The best part about this ball is we have the coverstock weak enough that the ball still gets down the lane great allowing that core not to over react on lighter oil shots. I hope this answers your question.
Thanks,

Thanks, Roger!
Next question:
Is the silver streak pearl made with the same cover and how does the core change the reaction of that ball. I have both and absolutely love them.

Rack, Roger is m-f, so you won't get a response until Monday. However, the SSP 's cover is stronger than the Sonic's , much. Plus, the core has a lower RG (will start up earlier) and 2x the amount of flare w/ a diff of .040.
You have both, and can obviously see the difference....the SSP is a much , much stronger ball. In the tech pages, you probably see a similar name for both covers, they are very different w/ the SSP being much stronger...

Rack,
They both use the Sure Grip coverstock, but the Sonic line has our Sure Grip II coverstock. Same material but a weaker version.

Thanks Roger,
It's nice to have an expert here to help.
Any plans to build a sonic with either particle pearl or a bigger flip block?
Thank you too, Jeff.

We do have a few things in the works for January...
Unfortunately that Sonic X weightblock cannot be changed too much from where it is. Any changes we make will probably be with the coverstock. We are looking to maybe bridge the gap between our silver streak and sonic x solid with another pearl Sonic with a stronger coverstock on it. More information will come later. We will also be having a new high performance ball in January. Once I get the chance to throw a couple I will give you some more information. Right now I am glued to my RUSH. I have to sub tonight for my boss and I usually use my Sonic X Solid, but it got a little squirly on me last week (I think they put out some more oil) so I pulled out my shiny Rush and moved about 15 right. WOW...I know most people like those big skid flip balls, but the Rush is so smooth and so predictable and hits very hard and I like getting in deep (LH) sometimes and just let the ball roll to the pocket.
Anyways I am going back to work.
Thanks,
