wrecker a shocker
« on: April 28, 2013, 10:30:12 PM »
Am i the only person who has seen the wrecker outhook a defiant soul? I am talking about even on its intended shot too. I had a wrecker and used a strong layout that did not work well for my game. I was thinking of getting a tropical heat, cyclone, wrecker, or cobalt vibe. How does the arecker compare to the to a tropical heat? And are there any roto grip releases coming. I was expecting a pearl to compliment the disturbed, a polished defiant with no micro bite, a low end solid with the wrecker and shatter series.

Makes perfect sense.  I fail to understand how people continue to undermine the "low end" symmetric...

Wrecker hooks more in the back on its intended volume. Defiant soul is a hell of a lot stronger and hooks more through out the lane. I have both balls. Throw a defiant soul box on a medium light pattern and it burns up.  Throw the wrecker on the same pattern and it hooks a bunch downlane.

I have all three(soul, wrecker, heat pearl) and there is no way u can say a wrecker out hooks a soul. I have them drilled the same and on a typical house shot the soul hooks more. It may seem like the wrecker hooks more because it is sharper on the back end. My wrecker is actually over/under for me and im thinkin bout knockin the polish off. The heat is definitely longer than the wrecker and more angular on the back from my experience.

The Wrecker is designed for medium-light patterns.  That's why it will look like it outhooks the Soul.  If you use the Soul on medium-light patterns, it will start hooking much earlier, which means it won't have enough energy in the back.  That's because that ball will puke in the midlane.

Now if you use the Soul on medium-heavy (which is it's intended pattern), it works great.  The Wrecker won't have enough hook on that because it's not strong enough.

Me wonders if people are confusing hook with roll again...

Bought my Wrecker a few months ago.  Used it on a THS.  Problem I had with it is that it started hooking too soon.  Added extender polish didn't work.  Resnded it to 4000 + polish + extender, then it was iffy.  Had two redrills to get it down lane before it started hooking.  OK for now.  Carry is really good, so it will stay in my bag, but still not my favorite ball.

Does it matter if it was medium heavy ths? Not saying in a mean way just asking. By the way, i am well aware of the definition of hook. I am talking about using both of them on medium heavy ths fresh. They rolled very similar but the wrecker grabbed a foot earlier and continued. The defiant edge they were using did not labor at all but the wrecker acted like it was a sync.

I had something similar happen with me when I drilled a Phenom Unleashed and a Havoc. Very similar drills. On the house shot, the Havoc hooked FEET more than the Phenom. However, on a 40 foot heavy sport pattern, the opposite was true.

And "heavy oil" is POV.
