LANE CONDITION:

Variable Lane Conditions/Blend for Seniors/Sport Conditions/Head Shot for others depending on the day you bowl. Sometimes they will strip and oil before league.

Length:

38 to 40 feet

Volume:

Would depend on the extra play on the lanes and how or if they strip aggressively.
You some times will get either a head shot or a full stripping of the lanes. (Too much individual interpretation in my center by certain individuals)..

COMMENTS:

Drilling: 60x4.50x45
Surface: Changed to 3000 with a Avalon pad

Likes:

The ball is very clean in heads and very readable in the midlanes. Very aggressive arc to the pocket, not a skid flip movement. This is the first ball out of my bag and 9 out of 10 times the only ball for the evening series. Adjustments are 3 to 2 at the end of the first game and 5 to 3 between the second game going into the third. I'm able to open up the lane with this ball. Since the purchase of the ball my series of 24 games have been well over my 204 average.
High Series for 24 games was 687 and the lowest was 873. I'm looking forward to some very good series with this ball. I now have a Seismic Platinum (Next Review) which I'm looking forward to placing in my bag between the Venator and the Euphoira. I would like to thank Mr. Sean Friendly (Seismic Staff) for suggesting the ball and Mr. Jimmy Louis (Sport Plus Carmen Dons Staff) for the drill pattern and assistance.

COMMENTS
Carry - Amazing, strong entry angle, even in heavy oil, high %
Likes - What I love about this ball is that it has a different hook shape than previous releases. It get down the lane clean but the Tenaci core has a lot of torque in it. This is one powerful ball. With the polish on this cover, you can play a lot with this ball. When the lanes start breaking down, you just chase the oil left (4 a righty) and bingo.
Dislikes - For my release, only on heaviest of oil did I need to scratch the surface with an abralon pad to get it rolling sooner.

Venator #2 weak layout for a strong strong ball

SPECS: 90X 1 3/8X60 surface hit with a Used 4000 abralon pad.

KEGLER'S BOWLING CENTER: Brunswick Anviline surface no double oiled heads and the playing inside is almost impossible it is just not their. As a result in comes really werid layout on the Venator. Starting about 12 at the arrows with my hand backed away from the ball to give it more end over end. Venator goes down about 41 feet then makes it move very smooth gentle roll easy to read. Never stops hooking just rolls right through the deck like the pins are not even their. This house carries down so I move right keeping my hand out of it the ball still gets down pretty easily the roll and hit is still their as well, eventually I run out of room and end up balling up to my stronger drilled Venator or Stampede.

LAYOUT EXPLANATION: My ball driller Tim and I hatched this crazy layout up in the shop one day. Looking for a stronger ball I could drill to be very smooth and arcing, and usable on drier backends or shorter patterns. The Venator with this layout is awesome. Length is easy to attain even when trying to really rev up on the Venator. Very continuos off the spot and never runs out of gas hitting power a plenty when the ball gets to the pins.

HIT/CARRY: Venator is a brawler, a physical intimidator by far the hardest hitting Seismic ball to date, messengers coming from all directions. Light hits mix very fast, heavy hits carries the four pin consistently

Venator#1

70x4x40 surface set at 1000 abralon.

Sabre Lanes THS: 43 foot THS on older wooden lanes Venator lit this pattern up. Starting up about 18 at the arrows, out to about 10 at the break point right at 43 feet. Hard Arc off the spot Venator continues through the pins very well. Moving left I could Get Venator to recover easily all the way into about 23 at the arrows and ten at the break point. As long as I kept it in the oil I was ok,

COMPARISON: To the Raging Bull same layout same surface. Raging Bull earlier and smoother rolling ball. Venator even at 1000 abralon is longer but far more angular. Venator is a harder hitting bowling ball more of a brawler. Venator and Raging Bull are about equal in hook potential Venator may have just a touch more overall, But the two would compliment each other if both balls were left oob.

SPORT/PBA Conditions: This is where the Venator shines. I was able to use the dull Venator on the PBA Badger Pattern for all four games of the block. Starting it slowly around 12-14 at the arrows and keeping it on a line into the pins Venator had enough turn to carry corners and make up for slight misses right. As Badger Breaks down I was able to bump left and have recovery, I also could increase ball speed. Venator gave me room to work with where other bowlers with other brands of equipment had less.

COMPARISON: To Raging Bull Stampede. Drilled 65x4.25x70 at 2000 abralon. Both balls have the same coverstock, Stampede is smoother, more predictabe. Venator is more angular more aggressive off the spot. Venator is a good 3 boards stronger. Venator gets through the pins better, hits harder.

OVERALL: Venator is a winner, Hard hitting, aggressive motion off the spot and all the way through the pins. Very Versatile when taking cover changes as is evidenced with the two reviews I have now posted on the Venator. Can't wait for the Pearl Version to come out later this year.
