Current line............Help..
« on: July 12, 2012, 12:53:02 PM »
Hey guys. I know this company is pretty new still and i've only heard a couple of people in my area mention Seismic in general. I don't know anything about these balls. With the current 7 balls in the ball line excluding the retired ones can you give me a comparison what Seismic ball would be comparable to balls from other manufactures. I just want to get an idea. Thanks in advance.

IMO the Bull line is an equivalent to the first three Nexus balls from Brunswick.

The BlackOut stands alone. It is the most versatile balls i have used, smooth off the spot and
very takes surface changes very well.

Aftermath Pearl, is a very nice Pearl, weaker than the Charged, but a bit more angular off the
spot with easier length down lane. This ball would be similar to a Roto Grip Bandit.

Euphoria, is stronger than what most will give it credit for. Angular off the spot even with the surface taken down to 2000 abralon it is still very agressive off the spot and drives through the pins
very well. IMO this ball would be similar to a Storm Frantic.

The Desperado LE is earlier than the original Desperado, what makes both Desperados stand
out is hitting power. This ball WILL get the ten pin out, i averaged almost 220 with it in a couples
league for the season even on the fresh it can carry very well. This ball also stands out amongst
the other urethane bowling balls on market.

Mainzer is pretty much spot on! One thing I would like to add about the Blackout-the more games I get on this ball the more it reminds me of the old C300 Red Pulse, I think you really have to go that far back to find a ball to compare to the Blackout reaction wise.

It's super smooth, just strong enough though not a big hooking ball it will definitely be what you would call the benchmark ball in the lineup. It's a very underrated ball imo....

Mainzer and StopNCrank - Thanks for the responses. So you both feel the current line of balls cover everything from A to Z.

Stitch, here is a link that might be helpful:

http://www.seismicbowling.com/balls.html

In the chart you will see reading left to right the strength of the individual balls, as well as the lane conditions intended for each one.

In general, accounting for drillings/surface prep you can cover most any THS, as well as tournament conditions. Hope this makes it a little clearer for you.

So far, from short patterns to long, I havent ran across anything where I said I dont have a ball for this type of condition.

Monster, I sent you a pm.  In it is pretty much the same that the others have stated here.  Nothing is missing in the complete line.  You could build a solid arsenal out of the Seismic equipment.  I couldn't do that with any other company, and I tried.  Closest I could get was combining 900 Global and AMF.  But for starters, I would say everyone needs to have at least ONE Blackout in their bag.

I'll agree with Gunny on this one. From urethane, to high end strong backending (is that a word) equipment, Seismic has it. From the one ball of theirs that I have (Aftermath, omg what a ball) is any indication, their stuff rolls great.

Right now, I have a combo of 900 Global and AMF in the bag. As much as the current 900 line looks really good, I would be remiss if I didn't drill a Cobra and a Bull Whip. Don't know if the Sure Thing would be considered a control ball, like the Blackout, but I would consider the Cobra closer.

Also, any folks in SA reading this... weaker urethane than the Hype plz k thx!
