« on: November 25, 2009, 09:28:44 AM »
Imageshack Desperado Album

Its a pretty sweet looking ball. Another attention grabber on the rack and going down the lane. We threw them in league and if anything there was too much oil for mine, Ryan shot high series this week i believe though. =)

Ball motion reminds me of my Blue Hammer when I keep my hand behind it.

jsluk, that is how Urethane looks when polished for the most part

jsluk,

yes, that is polished, but as I was saying previously the urethane doesnt polish up to a high shine.  Try the ball as is first of all, but if you need a little help through the heads add a little more polish - it still wont look that polished... that's urethane!

Let us know how you get on,

Ryan

jsluk,

I drilled up a 14lber for my wife and after a few times out she was ready to have me sell it.  Grabbed way too early for her.  I tried polishing it with Factory Finish and then with Finesse It and still not much of a change.  We put it in the wax machine that you find at the lanes for over 10 minutes (just kept feeding it quarters).  Once I had that as a base, put it back on the spinner and hit it with Factory Finish.  BIG difference.  Ball clears the heads easily and retains a lot of power/hit for the back.  We were practicing last night and she was punishing the pins with it.  Next time I get to the lanes with the machine I'm going to put mine in.

Please do what Ryan suggested first.  That is try it OOB.  If you need more length or push give the wax machine a try.

Doesn't the wax machine essentially turn any ball into the equivalent of a plastic ball?

JS, glad you got it to your(your wifes) likeing in the end!

As we said when developing this ball, it is primarily designed for "international short" patterns, where there IS head oil, but you want the ball not to grab at the end of the pattern... Out of box the Desperado performs brilliantly on these sort of patterns.

For drier patterns however you may need to add a little polish.  For some of my own customers I have not needed to change the box finish, and for others I have.

For house shots where you just want to even out the over/under, you would mostly likely not need to change the surface.
