First Night of Dominion
« on: December 16, 2012, 12:07:28 AM »
t full night of using the Dominion.

Drilled 35x6x35 surface 2000 abralon with 4000 siair over the top.

Bowled on medium to low volume ths during couples league. Had a 726 for the night and I had a nice look...just not the look I expected. Dominion was slow and smooth off the spot even arc motion. Smoother even than my Raging Bull more smooth than the BlackOut. Played very straight all night, 12 out to about 10-8 at the breakpoint, motion toward the pocket started around 40 feet. Carry was devastating never seen a ball set so early and still hit so damn hard. Dominion was shredding racks all night, hardest hitting ball thrown all night among the entire league.

First thoughts not what i expected...but I am pleasantly surprised. Getting stuff to to be truly smooth and easy off the spot for me is a challenge the fact that this ball accomplished it is amazing, and huge huge help to my game.

That's a fairly extreme Drill angle and a very long pin placement. It's as if you were trying to force the ball to be smooth with little backend. I know if I dull my Blackout, it handles a good amount of oil. So your result is not really very surprising.
I'd be more surprised if it had a strong backend.

Glad you liked it and it fits in with your arsenal.

That layout is the same layout as i used on my blackout. Dominion is smoother and far earlier than blackout, even with blackout having more surface than the Dominion.

I know the dual angle system i have used this layout more times than i can count and i have never had a ball read this smooth and continuous. Usually with my speed and rev rate the motion is longer and stronger off the spot. I do not need nor want to drill everything as strong as possible.

Interesting. Thanks for the clarification.

Usually people use a smallish drill angle like 35 degrees when they have either a lot of rotation or a lot of tilt. I haven't seen one of your videos in a while so I don't recall your type of release. Your results are proof enough of this drilling work well for you. Continued good luck.
