Just a note for anyone who has bought the Desperado (mostly online sales..)

The box finish on the desperado is polished, but being urethane it doesn't come out of the factory with a particularly shiny finish.  If you wish to use the Desperado on lighter conditions we would recommend polishing on a spinner to help clear the heads.

How and what do you use to do this.  I worked on mine for about 15 mins with every kind of polish i have on my ball spinner and it was like i never touched it just curious how do i get a glossy finish on my desperado.

I would be surprised if Beans Sauce would not shine the ball.

I found Storm's Xtra Shine to do the best job on these urethanes.

RevLefty, try them without a high gloss shine. The Desperado does not seem to need as much shine as the Hype to get good length. Hopefully you didn't drill  either of them too strong.

FYO don't forget that shine on urethane acts VERY differently from shine on resin: it gets more length and reduces the backend, even with "plain" polish. You don't need to use a polish with a slip agent to reduce the hook and backend on a urethane ball.

I had to work very hard get a smooth finish on a Hype. Xtra Shine worked better than Bean's on it, I think because it is real, old time urethane, not a newer version like the Natural. What took me time and several polishes and lots of hard work on the Hype and it only got to where the Desperado came out of the box.

I am not a saleman. I have used ebonite, storm, 3m, track, brunswick, polishes. All have their plusses and minuses. Secret sauce seems to shine up easier than any of the others, you just can't over polish with it or your ball will go straight. However, you can get the same bad result from the other polishes as well if you over apply them.

The desperado doesn't need to be like a mirror, I just meant if you want to get a little help through the heads add a little polish, even over the box finish.

Its urethane, so is never going to shine, but will add some skid.  I used 3M finess-it.

As we speak I am playing league with my desperado, second shift, and the gutter shot is great even pushing 500 rpm . Got a few vids while playing so will get those up asap.

I agree, from practical experience gained today. A small dose of XTra SHine got me more than enough added length,

Since appearances of this urethane especially, are deceiving, (it already has a dose of "silicone" and is a pearlized urethane also.), I would definitely make sure I experiment after each dose of polish. Do not assume, PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME, it is needs more gloss just because you don't see your face reflected in the ball!

I don't have 500 rpms, and a first arrow is good, so far, even with some oil.

The polishes i used in this order i hit it with ebonite magic shine.  Did nothing.  then I hit it with beans secret sauce, nothing.  Then i tried brunswick factory finish polish.  Only thing i didnt use was extender polish that i had.  But I will try throwing in out of box fashion first and then make my adjustments from there thanks for your in put.
