Introducing The TSE Series

Seismic News December 2nd, 2013
Introducing, the TOURNAMENT SPECIAL EDITION line

We will soon be introducing a line of balls to our arsenal with a little difference. The line is called "TSE".

This Line of balls will comprise of 1 ball from each of our line-ups/core lines to represent the characteristics of that line of balls, or add a new take on the reaction given by them. The most noticeable point of the line? They will all be solid black.

The TSE line is designed to provide a line of tournament balls which alone can form a great tournament arsenal, designed for pure control, using the same TSE solid reactive cover but with different cores in each ball. Only 1 TSE ball will be produced per core.

Each ball in the line will use our new TSE Solid Reactive coverstock, which is medium to mild in overall strength, giving less friction in the oil and a stronger response to friction.

Additionally, we know that many serious bowlers crave all black bowling balls, so here is your chance to put a few in your bag!

The TSE line was born from an idea following the discontinuation of our most popular ball to date, the Solaris Blackout. Bowlers found they could use the Blackout on multiple patters, with multiple drillings, and change the surface as much as they liked. While most bowlers like multi-coloured bowling balls and the visual affect they make rolling down the lane, we have been inundated by requests from bowlers who prefer to see less visible rotation on the lane and want more single color balls, and in particular, all black!

The Black version of each line will provide you with the most versatile version of the balls from that line giving you the most drilling options and widest variety of reactions on the lane.

Look out for more information coming soon on this line. Releases will be quite limited, so make sure to contact your local pro shop to reserve yours once announced!

The first ball we will be releasing in the TSE line is the Raging Bull TSE. Naturally, the Raging Bull TSE features the HORN core, with core specifications of 2.5/0.054/0.020 in 15 lbs. The Raging Bull TSE will go on sale in mid December 2013.

Well, Elite tried something conceptually similar when it released the PBA line of balls back in the day. The idea was that they had developed specific balls that were supposed to be perfect for attacking each of the PBA's animal patterns. Ebonite had a Tournament Player's Choice line of balls back in the day as well. I'm not sure how this will work out for Seismic, but it will be interesting to see the results and bowlers' reactions to this approach.

Interesting. Personally I like the darker color or black bowling balls because of the look on the lane. It is easier for me personally at the foul line to watch what the ball is doing.

Some colors and patterns can make it deceiving to the bowlers eye as to what the ball is doing down lane.

Same cover and different cores will be interesting. Very similar to how PK18 has been used a million times over through the years.(along with other coverstocks)

Many non tournament bowlers will enjoy the newer bowling balls I am sure. The question is how will the overall sales do to dictate if it continues or not. With a smaller company it may be easier to limit it to one production run and done and do limited weights of say 14, 15, and 16lbs only.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.
