We have a kegal ion sport at the house I work at, I do all the work on it. Our is programmed to strip the first two feet for just what you are talking about. Doesn't matter what oil pattern your putting down either. Is your machine not doing this or what model is it? I can look through my manual and see if I can find any thing on it.

It is weird that it is in fact not oiled those first few feet. And after talking to a few reps it will effect ball motion on the people that lay the ball down early. Have one friend that has been adjusting his style a bit to not roll over it because of inconsistent reactions he was not experiencing before the new kegal machine.
