I am having a dilemma determining what I am going to bring to Nationals with me. I have a Requiem drilled 70x4x40 at 500 Abralon. That will almost certainly be one of the balls I bring but the rest is a different story. I have a Polished, pin down, Requiem and a OOB, Pin down, AfterMath at home, I cant decide which one to bring for a step down after that it will be my Epicenter.

 

I have used the Polished Requiem on the Nationals patterns put up by the house I bowl a PBAX League at on Mondays and have had great sucess. However the Nationals Pattern plays with more friction right of ten than the pattern does at the Stadium. Something nags at me bringing two polished pieces and only one dull and the dull one being very dull to handle the oil in team. Was thinking of something in the middle any suggestions? Possibly drilling something for the job or changing the surface of one the balls I currently have.

      From what I have read, and this is just from reading as I have not thrown on the Nationals pattern yet, I think you would be ok with the 2 polished balls. Everyone sauys while there is more volume of oil, there seems to be more hook at the back end of the house. Most of the people shooting high scores have used a "step-down" or at least what I would call a step-down ball from a normal Nationals ball. The gentlemen who is leading AE used an Infinate Theory at 2000 Abralon (by hand). That is not normally a ball I would see people starting with at Nationals. I think your Requim at 500, might be too much actually and you may want to think about moving it up to 1000 Abralon. I don't know how you throw, but I am about 18-19MPH and 380-390 RPM's. I am thinking the Requim and Aftermath in OOB are going to be my 2 strongest balls this year at Nationals, then step down to a Hy-Road and then an Anaconda, with a polished Onyx Vibe bringing up the rear (and a plastic wolf for spares and if the lanes get truly nasty).
