I'm considering applying for a staff position with Seismic. However, I was curious what people thought. Does someone being on a staff give any more or less weight to their opinions? And being that I'm already in a pro shop, does also being on a staff really affect what you think of them or their opinions?
The way I see it, the answer could go either way. Yes, because if someone is good enough to be on staff, they most likely know what they're doing or talking about, or at the very least they're educated about that specific company's equipment. However, I also know some staffers, some are technically knowledgeable, but aren't that great of bowlers, so how do I know that they know how to correctly read ball reaction? But again, some guys are great bowlers, but they have zero clue what the numbers are or how the ball is laid out.
And also no, because if they're on staff, they're going to push that company. How do I know if another ball or company wouldn't be a better fit for me, and that they aren't just trying to talk me into something their company makes?
Since I'm already in a pro shop and don't have any bias or any reason to sell one ball over the other, I sell people the ball that I think best fits them and their needs or wants. I'd do the same if I was on staff, but how does that look to the customer? Thanks for the replies in advance.
