No urethane ball hits as hard as ours but not every short pattern needs urethane.
If you think about a short pattern, you want your ball to make the optimal transition from skid/hook/roll.
The raging bull is a slow response ball to friction. This means that when it does encounter friction its move is more gradual then say the RBC. If you use anything but a slow response ball on a fresher short pattern you are going to be in trouble. When a quick response ball encounters the end of the pattern it goes sideways.
On short patterns I have my 3 Desperados, pin down RB, and usually a variety of the other balls with surface to blend out the pattern. Everyone has this misconception that short patterns mean you want less ball and shiny covers when in reality its the complete opposite.
