Title: Requiem on the way
Post by: mainzer on January 16, 2010, 06:48:09 AM: Hey guys I have a Requiem on the way. How do you have yours drilled? and what reactions do you see from it?

Does the Requiem have okay length for a a dull Solid Reactive? And how about backend? Good Backend for a dull Soild?

I am thinking about going with one of two old Stand by drill patterns for Requiem either pin Under or over Bridge not sure which yet.

Post by: golfnutFL on January 16, 2010, 05:56:07 PM: OOB with a strong drill, this ball starts up very early and handles a LOT of oil. Early roll, continuous through mids and back end but not a big reaction in the back end- think hard arc, as long as there is enough oil to prevent it from burning up. It is a strong oiler but definitely not skid/flip at all. That's the Epicenter's job.

Drilled for length with some surface adjustments could result in some more length and back end reaction, but that isn't really what this ball was designed to do.

If you bought this ball to be a medium heavy to heavy oil ball, you will not be disappointed.

golfnutFL hit it on the head, "think hard arc". I can play deep with mine
and know its going to recover. but once the head oil is gone, its either
move more left or bag it.

Should be clean, super smooth and late (but not angular). This is my layout for a multiple angle ball that won't spend its energy too early.

Thinking about using the Magical Layout on mine, Pin over bridge with the MB swung out about a inch from my thumb. Always have a great look on multiple conditions when I use this layout.

Back in the day when companies started selling blems, I got a couple of balls with 5.5" pin-cg and 5oz of top weight, and label leverage was a safe drilling.

I just don't need the extra torque from the balls MB on most patterns. Swinging it into the track gives me a very even roll, with a little influence right at the pins once my axis has migrated near to the center of my grip.

I'll try and post a video of how it rolls.

Post by: DaveW on January 24, 2010, 09:39:06 AM: Yeh Dean, i find it makes it lay off a little more. Good combined with a shorter pin-pap (3.75" - 4.5") and higher pin placements above the midgrip line I find.
