Seismic "hit"
« on: September 18, 2013, 04:26:04 PM »
I don't know if I have posted this before, but these Seismic balls really seem to hit the pins HARD!  Much more so than in other brand ball vids.  Sleight of hand audio/video tricks or the real deal?   What is it about these Seismic balls that make them blow up the pins like a grenade went off in the pit?  Totally serious question.
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.

I own/owned a bunch of seismic equipment. I have liked all of them and they all have hit a ton, every one of them. It's made me a believer so much that I preordered the Platinum before there was even a video and I couldn't be happier.

The Blackout and Platinum are two if the best I've thrown ever in 30 yrs of bowling. That's high praise since I've only had the platinum two weeks but very predictable and it had my trust immediately just like the Blackout did.

All of there stuff takes surface changes well.

One of my buds has 2 seismic balls
From him:
Thumbs up to the blackout
Thumbs down to the venator (were thinking a surface change is needed)
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I have also struggled with Venator. It needs lots of oil. I didn't get a good read polished and sanded even to 4000 it reads the mids very hard. It Will be a real good ball for heavier patterns but not THS. The Dominion, Blackout and Platinum have been great. That's what's in my bag right now for league. The Amp and RBC I had last year were also real good!

With Venator either oil or ball speed is NEEDED. Or a weaker layout to get the desirsd look on the desired conditions.

Long Gone Daddy I can assure you man to man that I don't modify or change the pin action in anyway for my videos. You see what I see for my vids.

As a bowler I will say this I have never seen stuff hit/carry as well as this brand does. I watch other larger companies gear being used by bowlers that are of a high caliber and they struggle getting pins out I step up with Seismic and have far fewer and infrequent issues with carry.

Just a quote from a bowler in my mixed league Saturday. As I rattled off the first 10 strikes with it (Platinum) after pulling it out of my bag(10 between 2 games).
"Are you sure there's 10 pins in the rack, they are blowing up so fast it looks like 5 max". That's no joke was actually said to me.

I have no affiliation with Seismic at all. I just tried there stuff out of curiosity from reading another forum and I haven't looked back. For me everything is predictable.

Welp my buddy has speed, revs, and oil.  I think were going to take off the polish...

I've only had one Seismic, and the ball hit the rack like a ton of bricks. I found MoRich hit the pins a little different, and so did my Train, but the Aftermath was great. Pick one that fits your oil pattern and go for it.

Welp my buddy has speed, revs, and oil.  I think were going to take off the polish...

Took the shine off of my Venator (fresh 500 for 30 secs then 2000 for 10 secs) and now she is an absolute demon on my house shot. Funny thing is, they backed off the oil some this year but I decided to move in just a tad to play the oil. Been averaging 221 with the ball for 6 out of 12 games (didn't use Venator when league started because everything was hooking too much at first). The new surface and new area of the lane I'm playing the ball is carrying everything. I don't ring 10s with this ball like I was expecting because of the surface and overall ball strength. Instead...when it sniffs the pins its carrying. I'm slightly speed dominant but probably more matched than I ever was in the past with way more revs so that is why I see a better reaction with some surface on her.
The Seismic System:
Venator
Solaris Requiem
Aftermath Pearl
Dominion
Epicenter
Solaris Blackout (x2); unfortunately 2 cracked
Kinetic Solaris Pearl
Euphoric
Euphoria
Solaris TSE
Desperado TSE

Pretty much all of my stuff hit like a ton of bricks. My Euphoria hits very good but a little different than some of my others.  My Epicenter absolutely destroys the rack when it gets there. Had people in a scratch league I subbed in on Tuesday wonder what in the hell it was i was using because the reaction I was getting and its carry (playing on a 3:1 ratio shot).
Venator is very distinctive in its hit, Epicenter, Blackout, Kinetic Solaris Pearl. I haven't drilled my Requiem or Desperado LE yet.

 LGD,

Could possibly be that "match up" thing I've heard so many talking about. Perhaps you have found a brand that really seems to do that for your style.

I had the Euphoria, and it really is/was a great ball, but stronger than advertised.
