Title: The Raging Bull
Post by: SeismicHoop on February 19, 2012, 07:44:51 AM

Hook, hook, & more hook! If you are looking for a ball that hooks on oil, without losing its drive, than the Raging Bull is the ball for you. I have been bowling for 30+ years, and have thrown numerous "hook on oil" balls, but nothing compares to the Raging Bull. I have used it on house shots and in tournaments, and it definitely hooks on oil. On a typical 40- foot houseshot, the Bull out-hooks all my other equipment by at least 12-15 boards. Besides hooking on oil, it never gives up and never loses its hitting power. So, if you are looking for that one ball that out-hooks everything you have, then I strongly recommend the Raging Bull. You wont be sorry !

We have the Mens Open Championship pattern tommorow night. Looking forward
to finally being able to use the RB, I haven't seen enough volume since I got it. Will have
a review up in a few weeks.

If you think the RB hooks, get an aftermath. I think I am the only one on this board that likes my RB for shorter patterns. It reads the end of the pattern so smooth that it is perfect for tighter and/or shorter patterns.

No urethane ball hits as hard as ours but not every short pattern needs urethane.

If you think about a short pattern, you want your ball to make the optimal transition from skid/hook/roll.
The raging bull is a slow response ball to friction. This means that when it does encounter friction its move is more gradual then say the RBC. If you use anything but a slow response ball on a fresher short pattern you are going to be in trouble. When a quick response ball encounters the end of the pattern it goes sideways.

On short patterns I have my 3 Desperados, pin down RB, and usually a variety of the other balls with surface to blend out the pattern. Everyone has this misconception that short patterns mean you want less ball and shiny covers when in reality its the complete opposite.
