Your problem is not the Ball choice as it is the choice of Cover preparation/drilling. You have talked about using shinned-up strong drilled balls, this is where you struggle. Take a close look at any ball video ever done, the strongest drilling is never more than 4.5 from PAP, in fact there are a lot that are 5.0 from PAP with very little polish, Polish in any form always causes Over/Under reactions when the lanes are in transition, this amplified for a low track because your release is placing the core farther away from your Axis and you will enjoy more Over/Under frustration. So, your looking between the Seismic & DV8, both are based on the same principle, less core drilled out for Thumb & Fingers on both balls, both balls are strong Asymmetric, the DV8 comes sanded, the Seismic is 4000 + Polish but if you sand them both, it's a wash between them which is better? Next on Heavier THS patterns, you need to place the Pin 4 inches from PAP & Mb in the strong position with a sanded 2000 cover for length & Recovery, Sport pattern requires Pin 5 inches from PAP & Mb closer to your Thumb sanded 4000 for length & Control, so what I'm saying is, your not going to be able to use 1 Asymmetric cored ball for both types of lanes unless your the kind of player that can change His/Her release, So buy 2 Venator's or buy 2 DV8's and drill/surface them accordingly.
