Ryan, was this considered a Light oiled lane you used this ball on because this ball Video is exactly the same as your old video of the Solaris Pearl, the Solaris Pearl had a Diff of .048, this ball is 8 points higher but it's labeled as a Lighter oil ball versus the Medium to Heavy Solaris Pearl.

Props to Afflac for dumping Gilbert!

No this pattern is lighter than that which the original solaris was shot on.  Also keep in mind the drillings used on this ball.

This pattern tends to play quite deep even from the fresh, so a ball like this is good to be able to start a little further right.

The "style" of this ball is comperable to the Solaris though, however with a higher flare potential and a weaker coverstock, is not going to give the exact same shape.

On the same conditon, the original solaris is going to be a few feed sooner on the lane, and around 5 boards stronger overall.

Ball looks really nice, seems pretty versatile with different drill patterns from looking at the vid. I was planning on drilling it up to go down and go dead left because really dont have a ball dedicated just to that purpose and this seems like a good ball for the job.

Layouts I was thinking are 70x4x30 or the possibly the Magical Layout.

AHHH the Magical Layout is like this: With a ASSYM pin over the bridge MB swung out 1 inch from the the thumb usually try to have the pin and cg in a line also if the cg is the correct spot if not no problem cg no maddah.

For a SYM it is the same as above but obviously their is no MB marked on the ball. So then you just dictate where the MB will be once drilled.

Overall it is nothing really fancy or flashy, a ball drilled with the Magical Layout tend to be good all around parts of the aresenal that will work well across various conditions. My Pro Shop guy and one of his regular coustomers coined the term. Now most of his regular coustomers including myself and  the memebers of "The Bowlers Edge Pro Shop" team that won Nationals last year that use the layout, and have been for a long time.
