Insidebowling.com presents the Insidebowling.com Open. $7,000 first place, $4,000 2nd place. Top 40 cash. Field is maxxed out at 192 entrants. Two squads, A & B.
Double elimination bracket on Sunday. Full Rules below:
...1.) This tournament is open to all bowlers including PBA card holders and national titlists. Tournament will be USBC Sanctioned. Each bowler will have to show their USBC card at CHECK IN. Also at time of CHECK IN, each player will be responsible for picking up their bowlers information packet.
2.) PRACTICE SESSSION: Friday May 13th 2011 will be the only time the pattern will be able to be practiced on. 6:30-9:30PM. FEE to attend the OPTIONAL practice session is $10 per registered athlete.
3.) TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS: The tested pattern will be posted by Tournament Staff on insidebowling.com by April 1st 2011. Posting the pattern is a courtesy to traveling athletes for deciding upon which equipment to bring.
4.) SQUAD TIMES: All blocks will consist of 5 games with pin carry over. A SQUAD Bowls on FRESH at 8AM Saturday May 14th, B SQUAD bowls on left over oil from A at 10:45AM, A SQUAD Bowls on left over oil from B at 1:30PM, B SQUAD bowls on FRESH at 4:45PM. The top 96 from A and B SQUADS will bowl 5 additional games at 8:30PM on left over oil from B SQUAD.
5.) SUNDAY FORMAT: After completion of 15 games of qualifying, the top 40 will cash. The top 32 will return on Sunday for a double elimination match play bracket beginning at 9AM. Format will consist of a winners bracket and losers bracket determining 1st – 32nd places in the tournament. Bracket matches will be 2 game total pin fall matches staying on the same pair of lanes for the match. Seeding will be based off qualifying with seed 1 bowling 32 and so on. In the event of a tie, players will bowl a sudden death frame by frame roll off switching lanes after each frame. The higher seed will have choice of lane. The top 8 in the winners and losers bracket will bowl 1 game matches.
6.) PRIZE MONEY: Prize list is based on 192 entries. In the event the tournament does not fill, the prize list will be adjusted by the tournament director. The adjustment will be solely up to the tournament director, and may cause for the top prizes to be lower. The cash ratio is 1:5 on a full field 40/192, and this ratio will carry over based off number of entries. The tournament will pay the top 32 regardless of tournament entries so that everyone on Sunday will still get paid. Prize list will be posted no later than 9AM Saturday May 13th. Keep in mind that if the tournament is full, none of this will come into play. Please spread the word about this tournament.
7.) BRACKETS & SIDE POTS: Brackets will be available for each 5 game block on Saturday. Each player will be allowed to get into up to 40 $10 brackets starting each game. Each player will also be allowed to get into 20 $5 brackets starting each game. To max out in brackets each 5 game block, you will need $1,500 (40 X $10 =$400 beginning games 1, 2, & 3, as well as 20 X $5 =$100 beginning games 1, 2, &3). SIDE POTS will be a flat fee of $80 to get in all 10 games of qualifying. Side pots for the cut squad will cost $50 per player for all 5 games at night.
8.) ATMOSPHERE: This tournament is going to be promoted heavily throughout the Midwest. Seating will be removed and bleachers are going to be set up for media and spectators. Volunteer tournament staff will be plenty and announcements will be kept to a minimum. The optional paddock will be outside in a portable storage trailer with local Youth Bowlers assisting players with their equipment. There will be a calcutta bidding auction Sunday Morning at 8AM for fans and bowlers to participate in. This is a tournament like no other. Music will be played during practice each day as well.
9.) LIVE STREAMING & VIDEO: Insidebowling.com will be live streaming from this event all weekend. Finals will be streamed online as well with color commentators and will be uploaded to Youtube.
