You wont get as many entries like this. I think you would be better off if you have a 10 game tournament and then cut to the top 16. Top 16 cash and then go to matchplay. Sounds like you are trying to hard to get something different. Well most bowlers love the 10 game thing because it brings out the best of the best.
If you did what I said, you can get some people coming in and wanting to play 50-100 brackets on top of the high games, etc. I have not bowled in a 10 gammer in quiet some time but I know one thing is for sure. If you had a tournament like I stated you will have people from 2-3 surrounding states that will come out.
I know you probably dont want to hear what I have to say and you have your mind made up. I will say one thing, if I found out about a tourny that was in GA and was a tourny like I stated, I would definitly drive all the way there from northern NC.
You got guys that will in your tournament hit a bad pair for the first two-three games and wont be able to figure them out... These guys may not come back if you know what I mean, especially if they see someone to the next of them averaging 230-240. But the bowler struggling may have a better chance come game 4-5 to finally get the lanes figured out. I am sure you see what I am trying to say. Heck fire, if you did a 10 game format, you could even guarentee a thousand dollars first place and not have to worry about a loss! Mainly because you will have all kinds of players.
I am finished ah running my mouth, I just think you are going in the wrong direction changing a format to this. Bowlers like to keep it simple... If you could sometime do both and compare and then let us know how the results went that would be great. I am however, curious to see how it goes. John
