Well its almost that time again bowlers. One of the biggest cash pay outs in the southeast is coming again this January. Below are the details:

5th Annual King Pin Scratch Open
Hosted by AMF Boulevard Lanes in Goldsboro, NC
and King Pin Pro Shop, owned and operated by Clarke Hill
$5,000.00 first place guaranteed, based on 150 entries
last 4 years I have ran this the least I have had is 175
Saturday, January 9, 2010 and Sunday, January 10, 2010
Entry fee is still going to be $100.00
6 games of qualifying, then we cut to the top 20 and they will bowl an additional 3 games with total pins
carrying over from qualifying. cut to the top 10 and bowl 1 more game to get our 5 finalist for step ladder
finals. All 20 bowlers will cash guaranteed.
squads times are Saturday @ 12pm, 4pm, and 8pm
Sunday @ 10am and 1pm, finals will be @ 4pm on Sunday
++++ a free bowling will given away to each of the top qualifiers from each of the qualifying squads courtesy of Storm / Roto Grip.

A couple of things I would like to know if at all possible. Are you telling me that of the 175 (just for ratio purpose) only 20 get a check? Not complaining but I am just curious what is your cash ratio. Secondly, is this on a wall or will there be some sort of pattern laid out. I normally do not ask but I do not think I would want to drive 7 hours to try and average 250 LOL...Is there incentive on bowling more than one squad? Finally, could you possibly post a break down of last years results and pay outs?

Thank you for the information. I would enjoy bowling but it just doesn't seem worth it coming from Maryland. No less than 2nd place would justify that. I hope the tournament is a success as it seems it is.

It is not that I do not like the competition by any means. I do not have the luxury of dropping tons of money. There are 6 squads I believe so in order to make any "real" money you would have to bowl a minimum of what 3? That means I am giving the pool $200 extra to try and win more on top of the $200 plus side action. Who knows, I may end up there. But when you see a fund where you have to finish in the top 5% to make a decent check it is tough to gear up for something like that........

Best of luck to you are your staff though....I will absolutely spread the word.
