The bowling scene for a big city is pretty weak.  There are quite a few good players in town, but the scratch bowling scene is awful because there are too many guys with egos that don't want to get popped.  Most scratch tourneys are lucky to get 30 entries....except for the realbowlers tour.  They run tourneys all around the ATL and usually get 70 entries with guaranteed $$.

As far as pro shops there are quite a few good ones...Too many for me to name and I'm afraid I'll offend somoene if I leave a name out

I'm still learning about the area, just having moved here almost a year ago.  The Realbowler tournys are fun, but not held very often.  Still looking for a little local action.  Right now all I am doing is bowling with about 15 guys who get together once a month for a $20 winner take all competition.

my last trip down to Atl
I went to 2 bowling centers where I used to frequent, and they were both CLOSED
one of the centers used to host the PBA where WRW jr picked up the big 4

the 2 other center I visited were in the suburbs
WAYYYYYYYYYY out in the burbs, and there was hardly anybody there

I thought it was kinda sad personally

Yeah bowlerdawg not sure what center you're referring to but Brunswick Zone Norcross (formerly Brunswick Peachtree) is still alive and kicking on the north side of town.  It held the tour stop for a couple of years there and was where Walter picked up the big 4.

I thought the Big 4 pickup was at Brunswick Zone Norcross.  It is still open isn't it?

the one on jimmie carter is closed, and I thought that was where they had the show that year

I believe it was at least a 32 lane house
