SOUTHEAST BOWLERS UNITE!!
« on: March 08, 2004, 07:40:11 AM »
This is the deadest area of the entire BallReviews forum..........I know I'm not from the South, but I've learned that at least a few people can read and write............perhaps even some bowlers.

If you search back to the beginning, there were a few posts in this section.  Thee aren't a lot of us, and we're spread out geographically.  I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama.  s1nger1 is here as well.  King is in Mississippi.  Tweener2K4 is around Orlando. Toasty73, IceEmQuick are in Florida.  Rommaker (hasn't posted in a while) is from Birmingham...

Please welcome me to Bhm (working on 6 years but just back to bowling after a 5 year hiatus). We seem to be spread out and thin - have yet to find oil in Birmingham - some competitive leagues and tournaments, though.

Thanks for the responses and avoid the gutter at all cost............

NOt much to speak of here in the south, other then Florida.  I didn't think about it till now, but Strider is right, we don't have many from this region, especially here in GA since this state is dead on the bowling road map. Jabroni and myself are from just outside of Atlanta, and there is a McLaughlin on the Balls for Sale/Trade board that lives just outside of Atlanta also, but other then that, the pickings are rather slim.

Are there any decent tournaments in or around Georgia/Carolina/North Florida? I lived there for a few years, but I wasn't doing any bowling then. I may wind up back in Augusta, GA.

I was just hoping to stimulate some discussion on this board again. Looks like it worked. I've seen many of your names on various posts so at least I have an idea of who's where.

Thanks for participating - looking for anyone else from Bhm or vicinity.

Anyone going to Reno? Been this year? I'm not there until the 2nd to the last week (6/14-6/15). Anyone OLD, like me? Anyone bowling on tough conditions (ie SKILL REQUIRED ?).

Thanks again for all the responses. I'll be sure to look some of you up.

No, not going to Reno.  37 and pretty much bowl on a THS.  I do bowl some scratch tourneys, some on a challenging shot, some on a THS, but on a different surface than I'm used to.  I have to remember how to float the ball through drying wood heads.  I just don't see it anymore.

I knew there were a few Georgia guys, but forgot the names.

just remember, jabroni's from the atlanta area, and i know you don't want to incur his wrath!!!

i be from franklin, tn, just south of nashville.  in general the bowling around here sucks . . . but huntsville, alabama is a pretty good hotbed for bowling in the south.

ya'll come on down to baton rouge next year for the abc tournament!!!!

you can suck the head and eat the tail, and not get thrown in jail!!!!  i'm talking about crawfish for the uninitiated!!!
