Bowled the 1:30 p.m. squad and shot 212, 149, 136 after moving one pair of lanes to the right after each game starting on 1 and 2..  4 spilts in the 2nd game blew my chances of qualifying for the finals on this squad.  Bowled the 3:00 p.m. squad and started on lanes 5 and 6.  Shot 225, 223, and 258 to be high qualifyer for the day!!!  706 and with handicap 751.  Won my first match in the finals 249 to 208 and ended up 3rd after getting a pair that I couldn;t match up with in the last game!!!  Overall I was pleased with my effort today and looking forward to the next tournament that will be next Saturday and Sunday at Sandy All-Star Lanes in Sandy, Utah!

Reviving, with a hijack...

Is there anyone out there who can give me some information about All Star Lanes in Sandy UT?  For example, what is the lane surface, what is the house shot like, and so forth.

Thanks in advance.

Sandy All-Star has synthetic lanes.. I just bowled there less than a month ago and I do not remember if they are AMF or Brunswick and I am almost positive they are not Anvilane.  I cannot tell you about the typical house shot there as I have only bowled in tournaments there..  I did stop in there one day to throw a couple of games in the middle of the week and If not for the 2-10 spilt in the 10th frame in game one, I was on my way to a 230, then shto 259 in game 2 and decided that was enough.  12 at the arrows out to about 8 and with my Cobalt Bolb Pearl thrashing the pins I couldn't miss.  I had never seen pin action like I saw there..  Hope this does more good than harm to you when you bowl there!!

bobba, thanks for the information.

The tournament that we bowled at All-Star Sandy was held two weeks ago.  I had the good fortune of meeting BR.com member "notclay" while there, and he gave me some good information.  Unfortunately, a series of bad ball decisions left me somewhat lower on the prize list than I would have liked.

Thanks again, and best of luck in your tournament play.
