Cal State Tournment
« on: March 01, 2003, 06:01:21 AM »
Is anyone going this year? I'm going to be there June 28 & 29. Does anyone know of a good hotel in Fairfield along the lines of an Embassy Suites?

I am going with my team from last year.  We are going to be there 31 May and 1 June, while my wife Vivian will be there 14/15 June, with a tough team she got on to from some other BR members.  Your team captain should have a list of hotels that are offering specials to the bowlwers in the tourney.

I've got the list that the tournament association sent but I don't know the city very well. I go with a group of 20 plus spouses and we make an event of it. We normally stay at the Embassy cause the cocktail reception and breakfast makes it a great value. The Embassy isn't listed so is there anything like that around? I know there's one in Walnut Creek but that's to far for an early squad on Sunday. Thanks to all.

The fairfield/vacaville area has a lot of smaller hotels- like days inn, etc. The closest you'll get to Embassy suites is something is Sacramento or Walnut Creek. HOwever, since you're bowling a weekend, the one in walnut creek isn't that bad of a choice- maybe a 30 minute drive. If your wife likes shopping, take her along because of the massive factory outlet complex they have (in vacaville). Stars Rec Center is a nice center... where's the other venue again?

Looks like I'll be going after all.  I'm subbing on a team this coming Saturday.

Anyone know if they've changed the two-ball rule yet?  How about the dress code?

There's an Embassy Suites about 30 minutes away from Fairfield in Pleasant Hill.

There are quite a few chain hotels near Stars Recreation Center, too, since it is a tourist spot for shopping.

Ringing10,
There is an Extended Stay America which is almost as nice as Embassy Suites and its near the Stars Rec. Center. Its on the other side of the freeway. It should be no further than 5 miles from the center. Fairfield on the other hand is about 10 miles away but its still pretty close. There are some Courtyards and Residence Inns around that area as well. Hope you find something and good luck at State.
