Sport Shot Fridays at AMF Rocklin Lanes

Hey everybody,

What are you doing this summer? For those of you looking for a fun yet challenging league experience, I invite you to check out our new Sport Shot Fridays league here at AMF Rocklin Lanes

Here's a quick overview:
   - The league begins on May 17th, 2013 and bowls at 7pm
   - Runs for 16 weeks and costs $15 per week.
   - We bowl 4 games per week in a singles format
   - Handicap TBD
   - NOT sanctioned, so no USBC membership is required.
   - With 20 entries, the first place prize will be $1,000.

On the first night, the league will vote on which patterns will be used throughout the duration of the league. We have the following patterns to choose from: Chameleon, Cheetah, Shark, Scorpion, Viper, PBA Detroit Open, TOC, Masters, World Championship, and U.S. Open. Individual handicaps and point system will also be voted on during the first night meeting.

Due to the lack of a Kegel or Brunswick lane machine, the oil patterns will not 100% correct, which is why the league is not USBC sanctioned. However, we have tested the patterns and feel they are close enough to provide the league experience we are looking for.

For those looking to try out these lane conditions, we will be having a practice day on Saturday, April 27th, during the afternoon. We will have the 5 animal patterns available for practice.

So, if you have any questions or if you would like to sign up, please feel free to contact me here or at my email: danzilla911@yahoo.com or contact AMF Rocklin Lanes at 916-624-8216 or rocklinlanes@amf.com

Thanks, and I hope to see you on Friday nights!

I'm so tempted I'm contemplating driving from Lodi for this each week...

How many places are you paying at the end of the season, assuming 20 entries?  Do you think 20 is likely?  What's the maximum the league can hold?

Since you are in Lodi, West Lane Bowl has an actual PBA league on Wednesday nights in the summer. And it is sanctioned

Although that was my first choice, I unfortunately work two jobs on Wednesdays.  :/

Ah ok Rocklin makes more sense then. I drive to Dublin on Fridays for a PBA league year round.

Hi Mbosco,

I will probably come up with 2 prize funds and put them to a league vote, one where the top half pays out, and one where every position pays out. We will have the house to ourself, so we can have as many people as we want, but they asked that I put 2 bowlers per lane. I have been happy with the response so far, there has been a lot of interest within the center. I think its definetly possible will get to 20 bowlers considering its still a month away, but we will still run the league with however many people sign up.

Since you're coming from Lodi, I would encourage you to check out our practice day next Saturday to see if its worth the drive for ya

Hope this answers your questions!

As of 5/2/2013, we have 9 sign ups and just as many who are "maybes" or "probables". We begin in 2 weeks and we would love to have you bowl this summer! Feel free to contact me or the center if you have any questions or would like to sign up.
