Tour Power
« on: June 30, 2011, 05:26:36 AM »
I've been out of the game for a couple years, and was always a  huge storm fan. I relocated and the center i am bowling at now is a  little on the drier side for today's balls. I've recently drilled an  Anarchy and Nano. I had a TOUR POWER that i LOVED!  I'd do just about  anything to get a new one. Has anyone seen one on these boards, online,  or anywhere (15lbs). Any help would be awesome!  Thanks!

Rob,

I haven't seen a tour power in a long time.  I also had one of them, and I loved it for being even rolling, controllable and hard hitting.  The two balls in the current Storm lineup that would be comparable, but not the same because of advances in coverstock technology, would be the Marvel Solid and the 2Furious.  You are looking for a dull ball with a weight block RG between 2.46 to 2.50 with a low differential (.040) to keep flare low.  Another option would be the Ebonite Gamebreaker.  They were recently re-released for limited time.  Similar numbers.  Great benchmark ball.  Good LUck

As a former staffer that had a major man-crush on the Tour Power, I too looked for a ball to give me the same look over hte years.  The closest ball I have found is the Motiv GT-1.  If you look at the numbers it is low RG and low Diff, which the Tour Power also had.  Very few balls are released with numbers like that, so it's a look that is hard to find.

If you look at Storm's site it was listing the Diff as like .050 for the Tour Power...this isn't right.  It was much lower, like .034 or something like that.  I remember drilling one with a 4" pin and it flared about 3 inches...no way a .050 ball would flare that little.
