Pattern A: 42Ft, 28.56 Mls, 5:1 ratio

Pattern B: 43Ft, 29.86 Mls, 4:1 ratio

COMMENTS

The All Road was easily able to control mid lane roll. It wasn't to early that it flatten coming around the corner. Normally a ball in this range would slow down as you moved in. However, the All Road was able to keep its motion down lane. This allowed for moves in and out as the pattern developed throughout the set.

Things to look for:

A. The ALL ROAD out of box bled energy a little faster the deeper the play area became as I moved in deeper on both patterns. The ALL ROAD was much better in controlling the lanes as the pattern transitioned from the right.

B. The ALL ROAD with allow for more continuation off the back of the pattern as the midlane begins to transition.

C. Cover change for these patterns at 500/2000/polish allowed for slower moves on both patterns and kept me right or tight.

Personal preference is to keep the ALL ROAD shined for use as a 1/2 combination with the PHAZE III. After using these balls side by side on the same two patterns it was easier to make moves knowing the when I needed a little more power I could ball up to PHAZE III or stay in control with the ALL ROAD!

NOTE A: For heavy hitters the ALL ROAD allowed me to be much more aggressive in the release and power up on the ball. This helped with having a smoother reaction without being so restrictive in how much I bumped the track area of the patterns. When I moved in I was able to hold for a game and then push back out to the right and control the mids. This is a must if you looking for something not in the upper end of performance but still want to be able to play heavy handed and shape the lane as the night goes on.

I Drilled a second ALL ROAD and pushed the drill angle smaller. At this Point the All Road made for a bit of angle but not uncontrollable. It held shape on the same pattern but if you pushed it from the inside you knew it would be a little flat. However, polished allowed for longer stability and hold from the 13 to 8 range through out the set.

LOW DOWN: The ALL ROAD will benefit you if you are looking for a ball you can be a bit more aggressive with if you're a stronger rev player especially as the pattern starts to go. Next, the ALL ROAD is the ball you will need to ball down to from the PHAZE III. This ball will be more of a sport pattern ball for my play area at this moment as it blends the patterns out nicely. The ALL ROAD can be drilled more aggressive for lower rev players wanting to attack the lanes from the right.

The latest entry in Storm's long-running Thunder line, the All-Road lives up to its name by having a massively wide range of use. Fans of the original Hy-Road will feel a ton of familiarity in how the All-Road shapes downlane thanks to the Inverted FE2 core (2.57 RG, 0.046 diff in 15#), but the All-Road also brings extra traction to the equation thanks to the 4000-grit sanded NRG Hybrid cover (also seen on the Super SON!Q and PhysiX). My All-Road (laid out at 55 x 4.5 x 35, putting the pin above my bridge) showed itself to be a ball that makes it very easy to hit pocket 10-11 times a game on house shot... and still get through the pins while doing so. That combination is not always a given when pocket carry is a must - the extra control sometimes means giving up some drive, but the All-Road showed itself to be capable of both whether on fresh, burn, or carrydown. If you're a fan of the Hy-Road series, this ball is a can't-miss addition to the family.

What to say about this ball? Since drilling mine I've really happy with I've seen. I like smoother shapes and the All Road fits that. With nice pop in the back. For a med price ball you get a great ball and a ball that is good for bowlers of any skill level.

I gave my All-Road the same layout as my Hyroad X in an effort to get just a earlier smoother version cause I really like the X. Mission accomplished!! The AllRoad is much sooner than the X with both at the OOB surface. For me the AllRoad needs to have alittle volume in the front part of the lane for it to be really effective. It didn't really to change directions very much at all so I couldn't go too far left with it and just send it right, I had to keep straighter angles thru the front part of the lane to see a decent motion through the pins. Now the straighter I was able to stay with it the better it looked. I tried a surface adjustment with it cause I just wasn't getting much use out of it with the surface that was on it and when it lane shined it seemed to get even lazier. I put it back at 1000-1500 and put Storm Step 2 compound on it and the results were amazing. I got just a punch more push through the early part of the lane and much more continuation off the spot. For me it made the ball much more versatile and usable on the conditions I see in my area.

Storm All Road Ball Review by PJ Haggerty

As the “Road” legacy continues, the latest addition to the line is the Storm All Road.  The best minds at Storm went a bit of a different route with the All Road and it’s impressive.  The engine didn’t change inside the ball, but the coverstock did. 

I’ve drilled one All Road so far and think it fills a nice spot in my tournament and league bags.  I used one of my favorite layouts which is mapped out as 5 x 4 with no weight hole.  That puts the pin above my bridge and I didn’t change the surface.  After some oil got in the coverstock, the All Road shined nicely and it’s a much cleaner, quicker response time than my Gravity Evolve, but is stronger than the Tropical / Hustle series. 

I’ve had success with the All Road when there’s some friction and after patterns have transitioned.  I’ve also had success being able to move right, increase my speed, and try to trap it.  It’s a ball that doesn’t change direction extremely hard, so I’ve been able to use different releases to play with the response time.

Overall, I think the All Road is a great addition to tournament and league bags.  Go drill one!

The Storm All Road is featuring one of my all time favorite covers in the Storm family. The NRG Hybrid sees the pattern just right for my game. I love the strength and continuous motion I get with that cover and core combo. The All Road has a RG of 2.57 with a Diff 0.46. What this ball does for me is, when a Pro Motion and/or Idol series balls are a little too early, I think of the All Road. The ball has that strong cover where I know 1. The ball won’t pick up too quick and 2. I know it won’t get down to far because of the cover. If you’re looking for a ball between the Pro Motion and the OG Hy-Road, you should definitely give the All Road a look.

The All Road is the perfect benchmark ball - smooth, consistent, and versatile. It is not as early as past sanded iterations of the HyRoad (HyRoad Solid, HyRoad Nano), and covers a wider range of conditions. It is easily strong enough to handle a fresh league condition, but still rolls well when you have to chase the pattern left. I would classify the motion as a hard arc downlane - smooth but with just a touch of angularity. It is a little too strong for when the fronts start to go away, but going to something such as the HyRoad Pearl fills that reaction perfectly.
