Axiom Pearl
« on: November 13, 2020, 03:23:50 PM »
The Storm Axiom Pearl continues the line of statement bowling balls. This ball uses the same Orbital Core as the original solid version and the NeX (Nano Extreme) Pearl coverstock which is an upgrade to the NRG coverstock. The NeX Pearl reads the midlane and produces an impressive backend. The Orbital Core doesn't require much from the bowler to get it reved up early. This ball matches up best on medium to heavy oiled lanes.

Color: Cobalt/Graphite/Candy Apple
All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown
Coverstock: NeX Pearl Reactive
Core: Orbital (14-16#)
Fragrance: Peppermint
Finish: 1500-grit Polished
RG: 2.48 (15# ball)
Differential: 0.050 (15# ball)
Recommended Lane Condition: Medium-Heavy Oil
Hook Potential: High
Length: Middle

LANE CONDITION

Length: 41ft

Volume: High

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):
I laid out my Axiom Pearl the same as my Axiom, 45*5*30. It gives me fantastic length with alot of continuation. It gives me a very similar shape of my IQ Emerald but the Axiom Pearl handles oil better where as the Emerald needs the pattern to be broken down. Compared to my other pearl covers like the AstroPhysix, Nuclear Cell, its cleaner than both but less change of direction than the Nuclear and less overall but more than the Astro in both areas. The Axiom Pearl provides a great continuous motion down lane but does it with a forward roll and that gives me a very consistent read.

Likes: This ball is great right out of the box. I had mine drilled pin down for more league friendly conditions. This ball exceeded my expectations and was able to use it for most of my league session. The ball reads the lanes very clean and there is a great reaction the lane conditions that we bowl on. I am really impressed and am looking forward to using it more and to see how it works on tournament conditions.

The Storm Axiom Pearl is simply amazing. The ball gets through the front part of the lane very clean, stores a ton of energy, and runs through the pins like a MAC truck. What I like most about this ball is that you can attack the lane from multiple spots. Its Versatility allows bowlers to start and finish league without having to make a ball change. This ball compliments any of the stronger symmetric balls like its counter part the Axiom and is a great addition to anyone's bag. If you are looking for a stronger pearl ball look no further.

The new Axiom Pearl in the Master line of bowling balls from Storm, the Bowlers Company, uses the same Orbital core found in the solid version, but with a new cobalt/graphite/candy apple pearl cover called NeX pearl Reactive. This version comes from the factory with a 1500 grit polished finish. The Axiom pearl numbers in 15lb bowling balls is 2.48 Rg with a differential of 0.050.

I drilled my Axiom pearl with a 4.5” pin and a 4” pin buffer. This layout puts the pin just below my ring finger, as I have a PAP of 5” straight across. Comparing the pearl Axiom to a solid Axiom drilled with the same pin placement, the pearl is cleaner through the front part of the lane, and is a more pronounced change of direction off the spot. This motion is better suited for when the lanes have a bit of play on them, and the backends have softened up a touch, or when there isn’t enough oil in the heads to get a solid Axiom through the front of the lane. The Axiom pearl is also better suited when chasing oil depletion of a  pattern throughout the course of a tournament. I have used the Axiom pearl on many different patterns from sport to challenge as well as blended league patterns, and like it a lot. The pearl Axiom is at least a 3 and 2 move in to find more oil than my Idol pearl, drilled the same. The Axiom pearl is on the list for every tournament that I go to that has a pattern of at least 39 feet in length with medium to medium high volumes of oil. Even though the Axiom pearl has a defined change of direction, it is still very useful on more blended patterns and sport shots that have lower left to right ratios.

I really like the Axiom Pearl. Not only does it have a great color combination, but the performance on the lanes is outstanding. Seek out your local Storm VIP pro shop and drill an Axiom pearl so that you too can bowl up a Storm!

Review on the Axiom Pearl
N2X Pearl Cover
1500 Polished
RG:2:48 Dif: 50

The Axiom Pearl is a pearl I have been looking of since I switched to Storm this year. I drilled the ball 45 x 4 x 45, 15lb ball and left the surface out of box at 1500 polished. I have been looking for a transition pearl that I could use when the lanes break down and I need the extra backend to get out the corner pins. I am also surprised at how strong the Axiom is being a symmetrical ball. It lets me move in and create a better shape getting the ball to turn the corner and go through the pins, which I struggle with. This is just what I have been looking for a great addition to the arsenal!!!

The Axiom is a perfect ball for medium to heavy oil pattern. The Storm axiom pearl for me is the good complement to my nuclear cell from Roto Grip.

The fact that the axiom is an symetric pearl ball with a lower Rg of 2.48 compared to the Nuclear who is assymetric with a upper Rg of 2.52 give me a really good transition ball after that the nuclear begin to lost energy when the oil begin to burned. I'm able to squeeze me inside and the Axiom pass the heads and keep more energy on the back-end.

Another great addition to my arsenal !!

Storm Axiom Pearl is a great compliment to the original Axiom. My Axiom Pearl is layed out with a 5x4x2 just like my Axiom and the only thing I would recomend to do is hit the super shiny cover with 2000 or 3000 just to make it a little less fast in the front of the lane. What I noticed with the Axiom Pearl is that once the front part of the lane is burned up you can move a little left and stay in the same area with your target without losing carry. If your looking for a strong symmetrical pearl then this would be a great addition to your arsenal.

Likes:compliments Axiom perfectly

Dislikes: has to have oil

The Axiom pearl is the newest pearl release in the storm line. This ball is a perfect compliment to the original solid. I absolutely loved the solid and was excited to get the pearl and it did not disappoint. It has the same ball motion as the solid which lets me switch and play the same area when they start to burn up. I had to hit the cover with a 3000 pad just because I wanted it to see the lane a bit sooner during league play. The axiom pearl is a must have
