I have used most of the premium storm balls including the bolt, sky bolt, El Nino, Wrath, La Nina and now the 2000. However, don't confuse me with a Storm guy. I have had equal or better luck with some of my Brunswick equipment ( see my review of the Riot Zone ). As for the 2000, I think someone has aready used this, but it sounds so good I am going to use it again. The 2000 is the ball Storm probably wanted to make when they came out with the La Nina. Not to disparage the La Nina. A lot of guys like it, but even polished, it definitely burns up energy to quick to be any kind of an all purpose ball. I drilled my 2000 with my favorite pattern for most of my Storm stuff. Pin at about 4.5 inches just below the ring finger and the cg kicked out about 1.5 inches in thumb quadrant. This allowed me to put a small hole below the axis to create a little more early flare. Out of the box this one had a nasty habit of going long and turning hard on one shot then going long and laying back for a bucket on the next one. This concerned me because my La Nina did the same thing and I never did really develop a liking for it. However, after about 5 games the 2000 started to turn the corner pretty consistently. I threw mine side by side with the Riot Zone first on a walled up pattern on wood with bad heads. I then threw them both on an equally walled up brand new armor lane synthetic. By the time I got to the synthetic my overall hook was about the same for the two balls. However, the Zone tended to move earlier and ended up entering the pocket in a heavy roll from a strong angle. The 2000 got more length and entered the pocket at an even more pronounced angle, but also with significantly more axis tilt. Part, but not most of the difference can be attributed to the different drill patterns. Just a couple of words of caution. My game is not to test the outward bounds of my swing area. It is totally possible one of these balls, probably the 2000, would recover from a much larger overswing, but I can't be sure. Second, the 2000, like most of my storm stuff does not lend itself to my "B" delivery. I need to keep a fairly strong hand, ( by my low rev standards ) to make the 2000 perform. The 2000 in many ways is similar t a bos condition El Nino but you never forget that you are throwing totally different surface characteristics. The Riot by contrast is more verstile for the hand position changes I like to make. In summary, some people have classified these two balls as alternatives to each other. I think with slight variations in drilling they are pretty good compliments. If you are looking for different break points and roll patterns with similar overall hook potential on medium to oily conditions these might not make to bad a pair.
