Storm Electrify Hybrid
Storm created the Electrify line of bowling balls to offer value performance along with control in motion. This line of balls works well for beginners to pros. The Electrify bowling balls feature the Circuit Core which uses a lower RG and medium differential to offer accuracy. The Hybrid version of this ball utilizes the Reactor Hybrid coverstock which produces mid-lane traction and is great for bowlers looking for more control with a smooth backend reaction on medium to light oil.

When it comes to lower end balls people seem to shy away from them if they are a more serious bowler. These two Storm Electrify’s are the reason why you should not sleep on the lower end balls. I was shocked when I seen these two balls on the lane in action. I compared both of them to each other the Pearl I found myself really comfortable with it right off the hop. On lower volume or burn its going to be a great ball to get through the front part of the lane. The hybrid was a lot more round for me so started up earlier then the Pearl for sure. I started out with the Pearl and had to move about 3 right to get lined up with the hybrid. The Pearl really comes off the spot nice but not to quick where you can’t predict what it’s going to do. Love that the Pearl gets down the lane easy, will help when I get in trouble with some of my more aggressive equipment. The hybrid is going to be good when the lanes get tricky and can use the slow roll to control the pattern.

The latest addition to the Storm's HOT line adds something to the line that was missing, a lower RG light weight core with the proven Reactor Hybrid coverstock. I decided to drill this because I thought it would be not a skid / flip as some of the Match Ups I drilled. Found it to have great length and a strong entry into and thru the pins. Needed something to go a tick longer but not as strong in the backend and not to be to angular into the pocket. The surface with box finish matched well with the older SPL, will change the surface when I get onto newer HPL when I start bowling the Tuesday league to start with and then move to something stronger like the Trend.

The Storm Electrify Hybrid tested very similar to the Electrify Pearl.  I could not tell much difference, maybe a little sooner breakpoint if anything. The Storm Electrify Hybrid utilizes Reactor Hybrid Reactive coverstock wrapped around the new Circuit Core.  The Storm Electrify Hybrid is early and has a stronger down lane motion than the Storm Tropical Surge.  I typically struggle with carry percentage with lower end balls.  The reason is I need to move in when the lanes break down and loose carry with the weaker balls.  I don’t see this happening with the Storm Electrify balls. #Stormnation

The Storm Electrify Pearl and Electrify Hybrid were introduced to take the place of the Match Up series in the Storm Lineup.

The Electrify Pearl skids through the heads with ease saving energy to make a quick turn once is gets to the dry.

The Electrify Hybrid starts up just a couple feet earlier than the pearl and has a stronger, smoother motion.

Either can find a spot in a bowler's house shot league bag or be very useful for your dry tournament conditions.

I would slot the Electrify Pearl as a step stronger than my Hustle RAP and a step down from my HyRoad Pearl.

I think the Electrify Hybrid would be a good fit when my phaze 2 is a little more than needed.

The Electrify Hybrid (EH) has a rg of 2.51 and .030 diff, so by nature the core will want to go long down lane. I drilled this ball pretty strong (4x4) just to assure it didn’t go too long. I also hit the cover with a 2000grit pad to take a little bit of the shine off and slow down the reaction some. 
I am happy I drilled the EH 4x4 and hit it with some surface! It rolls perfect for when I need to get away from a stronger symmetrical solid ball like the Phaze 2. I can see a lot of bowlers liking the EH on house shots where you need to get in and throw it out or on some longer patterns when the fronts start to hook.

The Electrify hybrid is the latest release in the Hot line of bowling balls from Storm, The Bowlers Company. The all new circuit Core found in the Electrify bolsters an Rg of 2.51 and a dif of .030 in 15lb weights. The color scheme of silver/mulberry/neon red has a familiarity to the Rocket of a few years past. The Electrify hybrid comes from the factory with a 1500 grit polished finish. The Electrify Hybrid uses the tried and true Reactor cover.

I drilled the hybrid Electrify with a 4” pin and 3” pin buffer. This is my baseline go to layout that always seems to give a good predictable ball motion that is neither too weak nor too strong. The hybrid Electrify rolls really well on medium to medium- low volume patterns, with clean to very little carrydown on the backend of the lane. Comparing the Hybrid to a pearl Electrify drilled with a 5” pin and 4.5” pin buffer, the hybrid is about 3 and 2 stronger when throwing it to the dry. When playing straighter through the front of the lane and keeping the ball in the oil, the hybrid seems to be only about one board stronger, but reads the lane a couple feet sooner and rounds off through the pins better, allowing me to get better lateral pin movement with carry on light hits from slightly missed left shots. The hybrid electrify is better suited for medium to medium dry conditions.

I like the Electrify hybrid. This will be a good ball for people who want to see less overall hook than what some of the stronger cored balls can provide, or bowlers who are bowling on medium to medium-low volume patterns. The hybrid will also be good for tournament bowlers who need a late game, towards the end of the block ball that will still have good reaction through the pins with moderate downlane motion.
