Designed for league bowlers and weekend tournament competitors, the Storm EquinoX is precision-engineered for medium-to-long oil patterns (39-44 feet). It combines Storm’s signature backend motion with unmatched consistency, giving bowlers the confidence to dominate on the lanes. At its core is the revolutionary asymmetric Solarion A.I. Core, featuring three strategically designed cylinders that optimize motion. This design ensures fast revving in the front, versatility for drilling, and enhanced torque for powerful continuation. The result is the classic Storm skid-flip reaction with added control and energy retention. The A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock debuts Adhesion System technology for superior lane grip and responsiveness. Paired with the Power Edge Polish, it delivers effortless length and a sharp, controlled move at the breakpoint. Whether you're tackling league nights or weekend tournaments, the Storm EquinoX offers the perfect balance of power, precision, and versatility.

The EquinoX has been specifically created for the league bowler who is looking to dominate with confidence and precision. It features the new A1S pearl cover with Power Edge and the new Solarion A.I. core. Together they are designed to generate the classic Storm skid/flip reaction with additional control and power The EquinoX gave me a great look sliding on 20, looking 17 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. I was able to keep moving left and the EquinoX had no trouble turning the corner. When compared to the Ion Max, the EquinoX is much cleaner with a stronger change in direction. I can see the EquinoX being the first ball out of my bag in league and in tournament play it will be great after the big solid asymmetric balls start to burn up. Within my bag, it will slot below the Ion Max but above the Road Warrior. Stop by your local Storm VIP pro shop to check it out! Available on February 7th.

The Equinox has been a everything I wanted it to be and more. It is very clean and responsive, but without giving the over/under that you can see with a ball like this. I drilled it with a 4in pin to get the ball to flare and help blend out the cliff. Usually a shiny ball isn’t the best option on fresh patterns, but my last 3 first games have all been above 260. I find that the Equinox will still pick up if I miss it and at the same time it doesn’t boomerang off the friction if I miss to the right. I can see this ball staying in my bag for quite some time.

The newest premier line release from Storm is an all new core and cover combination called the Equinox. The Equinox features a clean pearl reactive cover called A1S. The A and S stand for Adhesion System. The design intent according to Storm is engineered for exceptional tackiness, designed to create effortless length and a sharp, controlled move at the breakpoint. The Core is called Solarion, a 3 cylinder design somewhat similar to the 900 Global Origin. It features the Amplified Inertia (A.I.) technology as well. The PSA is a little bit lower compared to the Origin, but still pretty high compared to most Assyms. They really targeted league conditions with this ball.
I first tested the Equinox in league. I decided to just get right into it, rather than waiting a game like I do with a lot of shiny balls. We happened to be on one of the first pairs of lanes, which always hook more so I figured it was a good time to try it game 1. The ball looked great right off the bat. It had no issues with our 43 foot higher volume house pattern. The ball made a very predictable move at the end of the pattern and continued very well. It almost felt closer to a bigger symmetric ball. The bigger assyms can get forward pretty quick for me, but despite a pretty sharp change of direction, I didn't have any problems the Equinox continuing it's motion. I also really like it's motion through the pins. It seems to rack through the pins really well so that you don't have the really bad leaves on small misses that you sometimes see with balls this angular at the break point. I stayed in the ball effortlessly through the 3 games.
I did experiment a bit with speeds and releases the first couple of games. It's very responsive to those changes and the last game I popped off a pretty effortless game over 250. Any time I can count on a ball on the fresh and the burn I'm happy. I also threw it a few days later on an afternoon after a league had bowled. I had the exact same reaction I'd had to finish the league session and I continued left of there another two games without losing reaction.
This ball will be very popular when you want to play the lanes left to right and still control the down-lane reaction. It is a definite house shot killer but I think it will be very useful on many patterns. It's a particularly good ball first game out for bowlers with a little less ball speed. The more speed dominant players will love it when the lanes start to transition and in houses with quick back-ends.

Storm Equinox features a new core with AI techology wrapped with the new A1S pearl covertock. The new Solorian weight block is a fast reving strong asymmetrical weight block. The Solorian weight block will produce and tumbling motion through the front part of the lane with a strong continuous motion on the backend.
The Equinox will bridge the gap between your strong asymmetrical balls and your pearl symmetricals.
The Equinox was designed to conquer lane patterns between 39-44 feet which is 80% of leagues and weekend tournaments lane patterns.
For me the Equinox will bridge the gap between my Physix Blackout and the Phaze AI.So when my Physix Blackout is hooking to early and Phaze AI isn't strong enough the Equinox will be a great choice.
Currently in my Storm Lineup i would Start with the Physix Blackout then proceed to the Ion Pro,Equinox,Phaze AI and then finish with the Storm Virtual Energy Blackout.

The Storm Equinox features the A1S Pearl Reactive cover stock wrapped around the Solarion AI Core. When Storm said this ball was designed for patterns between 39-44 feet, they were right. This ball reminds me of the original Attention Star. It is clean through the fronts and then has a nice smooth controllable backend. I expected this ball to be strong and angular but its quite the opposite. The smooth controllable backend makes it a great option for a house shot when you want to control the pocket and minimize through the face splits due to sharp angles.

The Equinox features the new A1S coverstock. SPI notes that the tackiness and responsiveness will work well with most house conditions. Your pro shop will have nice latitude in drilling this ball for your bowling style.
What has impressed me the most with the Equinox is that the glossy finish provides a good blend of controllable yet sharper reactions. At times this is difficult to achieve with pearl type finishes. The A1S coverstock along with Power Edge will need to be tested further. For now, it appears to blend very well. In addition, I have not decided yet if the surface will need that 4K or 3K scuffing I personally like to do on pearl offerings.
The Equinox will shine in your medium range conditions. To bring to light a similar ball for SPI, the Virtual Energy Blackout (VEBO) comes to mind. If you enjoyed the VEBO you will want to consider adding an Equinox to your arsenal.
For me, the Equinox is much more balanced and does not "lock-up" for me like a previous offering such as the Dark Code could do at times. I personally feel the Equinox is miles better for me over the Dark Code. So far, the Equinox gives me the VEBO type vibes.
Be sure to try out the Equinox and fill that gap for league and medium volume patterns. I am slightly speed dominant, rev challenged 220-250ish, low tilt and high rotation. The Storm Equinox is a strong asymmetrical pearl reactive with high flare potential.
I drilled mine 35 x 4 1/2 x 25. My axis point is 1 3/8 up and 4 1/4 right. I love this ball because it reads the middle lane and has great continuation and movement on the backend of the lane. This ball is definitely a house shot killer!

The Storm Equinox is one of those balls that just feels right as soon as it leaves your hand. It has a smooth, predictable motion that makes reading the lanes effortless, especially on medium to heavy oil. The Solarion A.I. Core gives it a strong mid-lane read without feeling overly aggressive, and the A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock provides just the right blend of length and traction. I love how controllable this ball is—it doesn’t overreact off the dry, but it still has enough backend pop to drive through the pins with authority. It’s the kind of ball you can trust when transition starts creeping in and you need something reliable to keep you in the pocket. Whether you're playing a fresh shot or adjusting to breakdown, the Equinox gives you a strong yet predictable reaction that keeps you in the game. If you’re looking for a benchmark ball that blends control with just enough punch on the backend, the Equinox is a solid choice. Go out to your local SPI proshop today to get yours!

Roto Grip’s new Equinox is a Pearl Asymmetrical piece that is good for Medium Volume patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin up between the fingers, CG kicked out 1” from the palm, and 1” Left of the Mass Bias. I threw this piece on a left over house pattern. Out of Box ball motion was clean through the fronts with a controllable backend reaction through the pins. I compared this to the PhysiX Blackout & DNA Coil. PhysiX Blackout was 2-2 left and more overall hook. DNA Coil was 1-1 Left but started earlier in the mids than the Equinox. This piece will be good for all types of styles on house patterns. This will be a good piece to go to when the fronts started hooking early and need that backend reaction later in the block.

Equinox is another great addition to Storm's family of pearl asym's. This category is one where Storm often excels, and the Equinox provides a unique take on this classic category. While Equinox features a new core shape, it has familiar and relatively normal numbers. However, the coverstock is more medium which puts this ball in the same vein as the AstroPhysix and the Absolute. These weaker cover-strong core balls are more useable on older surfaces, which are more and more prevalent in today's game. Equinox is a pearl asym that gives you that strong, classic hook shape in a slightly weaker/cleaner package that makes it more useable for today's condition. You do NOT want to miss this one!

The Equinox is a brand new Pearl Asym from Storm. First, YAY PEARL ASYM! I love pearl asyms. 2nd, this is a very clean bowling ball. But not too clean. It still backends, but not too much. It’s the perfect middle of the road ball. Most companies won’t make balls that are dead in the center of some sort of reaction but Storm isn’t afraid to do that. And they nailed it with the Equinox. Most of the time the big stuff is too strong to throw consistently and the weak stuff can be a little allergic to oil. When I bowl tournaments, I need middle stuff to help with the over under and the hooking fronts.
The Equinox fits that need perfectly. If you’re looking for something strong, but not too strong, and snappy but not too snappy, the Equinox is the ball for you.

Rock Star:
Controllable and predictability are the main features of the Rock Star. Cleaner than an Optimum Idol yet smoother than a Phaze 2 this ball fits perfectly between these 2 popular releases. If you like to play your angles closed and closer to the right (for righties) this ball will be a great option to have.
I mainly will be using this for sport conditions of shorter to medium ranges; however, I found success (including 300) with this on house conditions that play tighter and have more oil. This ball will take well to surface adjustments as well, if you need it to pick up sooner or later. Its versatility will allow adaptability to what the lane conditions are providing you. These benchmark type of balls are a must have for the competitive bowler.
Equinox:
This is close to a VEBO replacement although a tad smoother. If you like clean and angular motions the Equinox will be a great ball to have. Marketed as designed for most house conditions this ball will be able to be utilized on fresh and transition. I scuffed mine to 3000 to smooth out the backend and make it more usable on the fresh without being too angular. I have found for those conditions where the lanes hook early and play tighter on the backend this ball is a great option to go to as it will clear the front yet be strong enough in the mid's to allow it to give you continuation through the pins.

Review:
I have been rolling the new Storm Equinox for a few weeks now and I have been very impressed. My scores on our slicker house shot have been well above my average. The Equinox reads the mid lane nicely and has a strong move on the back end of the lane. Even though Storm has used new technology on this ball, the core, cover and finish have created a great match. This ball does everything as advertised. This ball is very versatile and should fit most bowlers’ games regardless of their style. The Equinox is a good looking ball and has a nice scent, but the motion, hit and carry are its main benefits. This ball hits very hard and I carry hits that I don’t think I deserve. I think the A.I. core hit is evident in this ball. The Equinox has been selling very well at the shop and at the distributorship. Storm has produced one heck of a ball with the Equinox! Storm promotes the Equinox as a house shot killer and from what I have seen this is true. I have not tried this ball on a tournament shot but feel it would do well on those patterns as well. I would put the Equinox just under my Exotic Gem but above my Ruby I.Q. in total hook. I recommend this ball to anyone who wants a medium to strong league type ball with a strong back end. The Equinox should be generating a lot of high scores.
Summary:
The Equinox is an excellent ball for all types of styles.
The Equinox moves nice on the back and provides hard hit and excellent carry.
This ball has been great on our house shot and is scoring very well.

I drilled the new Storm EquinoX 5x4.5x1.5 to give me a little bit more of that "skid flip" motion that made storm famous. This ball features a brand-new core/cover combo with the Solarian A.I. core paired with A1S Pearl cover stock. This ball should bring back memories for the people that were bowling when storm was out on the map with the trademark Skid Flip motion. This ball is also a MONSTER on the house patterns. I've used this ball on multiple leagues on slightly different house patterns, and it comes off the oil the same every time. As for tournaments, I'd put this ball as a ball 3 or 4 for later in the day. This EquinoX is clean through the fronts and comes off the pattern hard, all while continuing through the pins nicely.
I highly recommend picking one or two of these up!

The Equinox is Storms newest high end piece. The Equinox features the A1S pearl cover wrapped around the Solarion AI core. The Equinox was designed with the typical league bowler in mind. The Equinox is on the cleaner and more responsive end of ball reaction. Personally the Equinox fits right between my weaker and stronger Physix Blackout. I see the Equinox being a good option for me to blend out the softer house patterns. The Equinox is now available from any Storm VIP Pro Shop!

I’ve been throwing the Storm Equinox in its 14-pound version, and it’s my go-to for our 44-foot house shot. It’s got the Solarion A.I. Core with an RG of 2.49, a differential of 0.053, and an intermediate differential of 0.017, wrapped in the A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock with Power Edge polish. A lot of folks rave about its skid-flip motion, but with my 5 x 4 x 2.5 drilling, I get a more controllable backend. On that 44-foot pattern, it shines as the lanes break down, pairing perfectly with my stronger balls for a hook I can trust. The Power Edge polish gives me that extra length I need on medium oil. As a medium-speed, rev-matched bowler, I love how forgiving it feels at the breakpoint. For me, the Equinox is all about finesse—lively yet predictable, it’s the perfect bridge between my big and weaker balls.

The Storm Equinox is honestly a great ball for your typical house shots. The new Solarion A.I. core provides nice midlane read and the A1S pearl reactive coverstock provides a great amount of length to allow the core to store energy at the right moment to change direction nicely and controllably for the backend. This Equinox provides a great downlane pop in case you need to move into the oil, and responds well to hand positions. If you feel that you need more backend, you can create axis rotation to allow the ball to respond quicker off the friction. If you feel that you need more midlane and even roll, you can stay behind the ball to give you more control. The Equinox is your typical skid/flip ball that you would need to have in your bag!
-
I drilled up my EQUINOX at 5 x 4 x 3. I wanted this to be stable rolling and to possibly be a middle of the set ball on medium to med/heavy patterns. I have thrown it at the box finish.
The EQUINOX is all it is advertised to be which is a predictable league shot killer type ball. I get good rolly reaction but not too sideways when it sees friction unless it is fed directly into the friction too early. From deeper angles, I get the good roll when it does see the friction, but it can blow past the breakpoint if I get too far left too quickly. Hitting power is good for me and it does give some release forgiveness.
I put this up against my SUBLIME FOCUS which I shined up with Power Edge and has been my starting league ball. Very similar in that I can play with both in the same general area on the lane and get predicable ball motion. The FOCUS has an edge if I am "lining" it to the pocket more as being a solid base, it picks up just soon enough to get the weak ten out where the EQUINOX might still be too flat to carry that hit yet. I tried it against some other pieces in this medium/heavy range like the PHAZE AI or PHYSIX BLACKOUT but there is not much comparison as I keep both of those with more surface, so they pick up quicker than the EQUINOX. I do get the feeling that I could drill a companion EQUINOX with a stronger pin placement and keep surface on it and have a predictable smooth pearl for a longer pattern when the front goes away for the stronger solids, but the shined pearls just are not seeing the patern early enough to get the corners out.
-
I really love this ball, Right out of the box, no surface adjustments, and I win a tournament with it. It was a ball in my bag that I went to after trying other balls, (Physix Blackout, Road Warrior, Zen 25, Sublime Focus, and this ball dug me out of a hole and got me back on my feet. When you bowl on a house shot, Sport pattern, and a pattern you have no clue what it is like I did...it was the ball. We all have those days where we can't carry, no matter what we try, where we move, what ball we throw, It happens. Well, this was a new ball, so I had to try it and it worked. The new technology with this ball is the greatest, It read the mid lane very nice, the pin is right in my ring finger. Then the flip on the back end, its amazing the way you can play different angles, find the right one and it gets the job done. Its an awesome Asymmetric, power edge finish to have in your bag.

The new Storm release in the Premier line is the Equinox. Brand new Core and Coverstock! Storm's message is that 80% of the leagues and weekend tournaments are played on oil patterns between 39-44 feet. So Storm designed a ball for those lengths called the Equinox. I drilled mine 4.75x4.5x4.5 pin down.
The Equinox has a different roll than normal Asymmetrical pearls. The Equinox is a great medium ball, not too early and not too flippy. This is truly a house shot killer. I have drilled a couple for my customers and it is honestly crazy how good this ball is for league bowlers. The Equinox just goes through the pins the right way.
When the miss in the ball just sets there and still climbs over the 8-9. Miss out toward the dry and Equinox just rolls off of it and strikes. I have the Equinox a ball up from Physix Blackout and below the Attention Star S2. The Equinox definitely lives up to the hype!

Review:
We love new cover and new cores! Storm had a lot of hype with this release and drew a lot of attention that this ball was built to be a house shot killer. We were excited to test this ball out during league. We drilled this ball with our normal layout: tweener, 350-375 revs, 16.5mph, layout of choice is 4x4x2 (pin is above bridge). Compared to the Origin, surprisingly the Equinox is earlier and less overall. In my eyes it is more of a beefed up Phaze 2, rolling more with like a traditional hybrid or even solid if you knock the power edge off. The way the ball shapes you can tell it is built for “house patterns” but I wouldn’t overlook the fact that it doesn’t mean it wouldn’t look great on sport as well. This piece is very controllable and doesn’t jump like some pearls do if you miss left. Because it picks up much earlier than expected it creates some hold down the lane.

Storm Description:
With 80% of leagues and weekend tournaments played on oil patterns between 39 and 44 feet (Doug Dukes, VP of Sales, Kegel), the Storm EquinoX is purpose-built for league bowlers. Designed for these conditions, it delivers the signature backend motion Storm is known for—combining powerful reaction with consistent performance. The EquinoX is the ideal choice for bowlers looking to dominate their league nights and weekend tournaments with confidence and precision.
The Storm Equinox bowling ball is a high-performance option designed for league bowlers who want consistent performance on medium to heavy oil lane conditions. It features the NEW A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock with Storm’s Adhesion System Technology, providing exceptional tackiness and responsiveness on the lane. The ball comes polished with Power Edge, which helps create effortless length with a sharp, controlled move at the breakpoint.
The Equinox also boasts the innovative Solarion A.I. Core, designed with three distinct cylinders that optimize motion. This unique core design creates the classic skid-flip reaction Storm is known for, with added control and power. The largest cylinder lowers the RG, allowing the ball to rev quickly and gain momentum, while the top cylinder introduces drilling versatility. The smallest cylinder enhances torque and extends the core’s height, increasing rotational energy downlane.
The Equinox is versatile for various bowling styles. As aTweener the ball's strong midlane rev and controlled backend motion make it a reliable choice for league nights and weekend tournaments. I found mine at box condition to be slightly more controllable than my Roto Grip Attention Star and 3 boards stronger overall than the 900 Global Eternity. All have the same layout.
When I tested the ball it was too clean and reminded me of my VEBO. But as the track opened up and the friction became more defined it had me having Dark Code vibes. This ball carries light, flush, trip 4, you name em'. The league bowlers will definitely enjoy the consistant ball reaction.
Overall, the Storm Equinox clean, consistent bowling ball that gives you the signature Storm backend motion. An excellent choice for all bowlers seeking precision and power during competition. Have fun!

Storm Equinox. The ball first ball by Storm designed for the typical house shot. I drilled my 14lb Equinox 5x4x2 since that is my standard house shot layout. I hit the lanes right after league got over to see what the new A1s coverstock would do with the friction on the lane. My first shots I noticed that the cover didn't seem to over react to the friction but I did notice that I did have more skid in the oil than I expected. After a handful of games I decided to take a 2000 grit abrolon and knock the high gloss off. I was surprised that the cover responded the same to the friction but was much earlier in the oil. By knocking the shine down it added 2-3 extra boards of area to the left. If you are looking for a ball to use on most house shots this is your ball. I have been able to use it on a lot of sport shots as well. I am a medium speed player with a 450-475 rev rate. Storm just keeps producing balls designed to keep you at the top of your game.

Some knowledge for ya- The word "equinox" comes from the Latin words aequus (equal) and
nox (night).
And what happens at night in bowling centers — league play happens in most of the bowling
centers nationwide. The all new Equinox is formulated for league bowlers, league pattern
lengths and oil volume. My Equinox is laid out with a trusty 5 x 4 x 4 which is one of my 2
favorite layouts for league and medium volume, and length patterns. In the center with Pro-Lane
I can play a little outside of the normal “lefty” track around and be able to migrate with my feet
left and close down angles as the league match goes on, without making large changes into
different balls. I’m using my Rock Star more so in this center because I need for the ball to pick
up a little sooner than what the Equinox is doing. Even though I can stay in the Equinox all night
long, unlike the THS balls I have used this league 2024-2025 season like the X-Ray, which is still
one of my favorite balls for the past several years, and the Lighting Blackout, where both of
them I would need to get into “bigger”pieces to finish the league matches out in all 3 centers I
have bowled league matches in. The Equinox is a FULL step-up from the Rock Star and
compliments my Attention S2 to make an extremely well diverse 3 ball league bag of those 3
balls. Check out the all new Equinox along with the Rock Star at any of the Storm Matchmaker
Live! Events in your areas.

Ball Specs: Equinox
Cover: A1S Pearl, Power Edge Finish
Core: Solarion AI Core
Scent: Blueberry Crumble
The Storm Equinox is a versatile and powerful addition to Storm’s lineup, designed to deliver a strong and consistent motion across various lane conditions. Featuring the Solarion AI Core, this ball provides a strong mid-lane read while maintaining backend continuation. It is ideal for bowlers looking for a reliable motion on medium to heavy oil patterns. The A1S Pearl Reactive Coverstock enhances length while retaining energy for a strong, yet controllable backend reaction. Out of the box, the Equinox comes with a Power Edge finish, allowing it to glide effortlessly through the heads before making a strong move towards the pocket. Bowlers who enjoy smooth, yet angular reactions will find the Equinox to be a great fit in their arsenal. Whether you’re looking for a benchmark ball or a strong complement to more aggressive equipment, the Storm Equinox delivers an exceptional performance with the signature Storm hitting power.

The new Storm Equinox features an all new A1S Pearl reactive coverstock paired with an all new Solarion A.I. asymmetrical core. At 15 pounds, the ball has a low RG of 2.49 with a differential of .053 and an intermediate differential of .017. I drilled my 4.5 x 4.5 x 3. This put the pin right above my bridge and the mass bias right in my thumb. The Equinox’s new cover features Storm’s Adhesion System Technology which provides exceptional tackiness and responsiveness on the lane. The Equinox is finished with Power Edge. The message to bowlers is that 80% of leagues and weekend tournaments are played on oil patterns between 39 and 44 feet. The Equinox is designed with this in mind. For me the Equinox out of the box was a little too clean and just did not read the the lane early enough for my liking. I took a 2000 abralon pad to the cover to know off the shine and the reaction changed to exactly what I wanted from it. The ball is still super clean through the heads but does not miss the spot like it did with the box finish. The backend motion is a slower response than most pearls, but a true continuous arcing motion which continues through the pins. The A. I. core continues to provide the best pin carry on the market. This ball is very versatile and will certainly get a lot of play for all style bowlers. The ball may be designed for 80 % of the lane conditions, but it will be liked by 100% of the bowlers who drill one

Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 35
My Equinox is the definition of “send it and bend it” - when the lanes are medium-dry to
medium-heavy, this thing will cover a lot of boards with its strong backend. The Solarion AI core gives the Equinox easy length through the front of lane, and tons of torque down-lane. It is cleaner and “flippier” than the 900 Global Origin (one of my favorites), and as such, is a perfect ball down from it. I do not find the Equinox to be suitable for fresh oil, as it's skid-flip tendencies can make it a bit too inconsistent until the lanes break down a bit.
