We drilled Our New Blaze "Full-Leverage" 3-3/8" Pin,
with the balance hole at 6" on the mid-line.

On Our fresh league condition the ball was smooth and controllable!

Strong Controlled hook on the backend!
This was not a Skid/Snap Ball!!! in our hands.

Do not be confused by Storms Promotional Flyer where they describe this
ball to have a "Blazing backend reaction" to equal Skid/Snap for everyone!

If you have a strong enough release to get this ball down the lane, it will
be more of a Snap ball on the backend.

The Hook was Strong with this ball, but not a "Jump"!
We were able to float this ball down the lane with ease
and get a smooth strong hook with tremedous hit and carry!

The ball was friendly in that we could follow the oil line as the lanes
broke down and still get it to turn the corner!

As the Lane broke down, we found that this ball became stronger!

Just to test how far this cover would let us play, we waited until the last
league of the day was finished bowling and we got on the lanes at 9:30pm,
after two complete shifts of leagues, and we found that the cover was immediately
TOO Strong for the fried lane conditions! if we played it deep inside where we found a trace of oil, we could not get this ball back!
and or it would use all its energy up just past the arrows and start drifting left on us!

If you have a good fresh league condition or your the second shift behind the freshly oiled lanes, you will find a place for this one!

We found the Blaze to be very friendly and easy to work with!

   When I saw the spec sheet for this ball, I drooled. It sounded like a perfect "go-to" ball for house conditions, when heads begin to fry and back-ends begin to carry down, and also possibly a good choice for "Sport" conditions. I was dead right on both counts. This ball is an EXCELLENT addition to the Storm line and to anyone's arsenal.

   I drilled my example with pin about 4-1/4" from PAP, CG kicked out right and a small extra hole on axis to bring it back to 1/2 oz. Positive side in static weight. The idea was to get a stable, predictable reaction on conditions that were starting to get weird, and to retain as much energy as possible for hit and carry.

   On starting-to-fry house conditions, when full-bore particle stuff was starting to jump early and go through the nose, and resin started to scoot, this was PERFECT. It got through the heads without blinking, and went into a smooth, arcing roll in the back-ends, no surprises or astonishment-- and sweet Lord, does it HIT! It kicked out corners like a champion. Obviously, it retains plenty of energy for this purpose.

   On three different "Sport" patterns-- two on synthetic and one on wood-- it reacted equally predictably, although with less overall hook. Where a stronger particle ball would leave a 4 or 4-9, or possibly just trip the 4 if you were lucky, this would stay wide enough and strong enough to hit flush or low and blow out the corners, without thinking about finishing hard enough to leave a 4-pin. And again, no surprises-- it reacts consistently and mellowly, with no over/under discernible. This ball is AT LEAST an 8.5 or a 9 (out of 10).

   Coverstock seems to clean easily, so far, and retains all its original out-of-the-box pop after a dozen games or so. Only caveat is, people keep asking if I have a sore throat-- the Cherry Cough-Drop fragrance is QUITE strong, even after some use! Leave it in your car on a warm day, it will permeate the whole inside with essence of Smith Brothers. (A bit overly sweet, but pleasant enough.)

Storm has did again!! Another high quality lower price ball. I just drilled it yesterday and couldn't wait for league to try it. So I took it to the lanes on a second shift shot(broke down medium christmas tree) and it was great. This is my new favorite ball. It only took 2 balls to line this baby up. It got through the front clean, checked up nicely in the midlane, finished with a strong move to the pocket but no snap(probaly the drilling), and the pins were yelling for mercy. It carries almost anything, it is my best carrying ball I own- keeps the pins nice and low. It carries the corners extremly well- only three 10 pins in 6 games. Not one game below 200 and that was with expirementing with different lines. It doesn't seem to be the ball for playing real deep on a medium condition, maybe a little drier for this would help or flying backends. My recommendation for this ball is if you have a lot of hand do not drill this ball too strong, you don't need to. It has plenty of hook and carrying power, a strong drilling might make control an issue. Good luck to all and Thanks Storm for a Great Ball.
       Update- Shot League last night on fresh medium christmas tree and I was right,with clean back ends this baby moved on the back. I took 5 frames to get used to the snap on the end. The same ball from last night would almost go Brooklyn on the shot tonight. I was able to play as deep as I wanted but it became a little diffcult to control covering too many boards. Still a very impressive ball- shot 650 first league set. Usually I don't fair to well the first league night with a new ball but this ball is great and is easy to work with. A must for every bowler shooting on a medium condition.

This is my first review on this website. My name is Vinny and I have worked for the bowling indsutry for 15years now. I now manage a pro shop full-time.  
I drilled the Eraser Blaze for a left handed bowler. His release is dead up the back of the ball and tracks over his index finger and thumb hole.  Not a full roller, and not quite a 3/4 roller.  Pin 1-1.5 I drilled it over the label with the pin at 2:00.  Now keep in mind this gentleman was not hooking a Black Chaos or a Black Game pointing from the 1 board over the 5 to 7 board.  He threw the ball for the first time from the 1 board over the 5 board and hit the 3-6 pocket on the right!  I had to cokmpletely reposition him to throw this ball.  It went 40 feet on a wet/dry condition with moderate carrydown, and made a 45 degree turn, tickled the head pin and sent a tomahawk messenger at the 10 pin.  He threw 5 in a row that same way and practically hugged me.  
Very skid/snap ball, hard hitting for a short pin and not a lot of revs.

First, I love Storm!  But they have no idea what thier equipment does!  I purchased a Too hot based on thier rumblings and that ball HOOKS on the back end!(great ball though)  Now I buy a Blaze and this thing hooks in the mid lane quite a bit.  I used the #1 drilling for storm.  Mon O Man does it make a strong move in the mid lane.  I would rate this as a bowl that rols like an Eraser with a stronger mid lane reaction and less back end!  Once you understand that this ball is great.  It hits just like the eraser. If you have a lot of hand expect this to move strong!

This and the Boost are my two newest toys from Storm. I carry these along with a Money for my 3 ball line as of now. I need to add a dry lane ball by the end of the summer, but anyway, on to the review.

On me, 18-19 MPH, a whole lot of revs.

After finding that my Columbia balls were quickly becoming too condition specific, I decided to go back to my two favorite companies in terms of consistency, Storm and Track. (I loved the old Thunder and the Sky Bolt)

I decided to get the Blaze and the Boost based on my love of my friends Eraser. After seeing the glowingly positive reviews here on both of these, I figured why not.

On the Blaze, I tried to get it to be a light oil ball. Well, this isn't the case. This ball is WAY too strong for that. This ball does clear the front with ease, but the backend is tremendous. The hit is incredible as well. Right now, this ball is giving me the same reaction that my Messenger Ti Gold did. If this ball holds up, as Storm stuff does better than any other company, this ball will be in my bag for a long time.

This ball gets a 10/10 for a skid/snap ball. Do not go by Storm's list on this ball, it will outhook those expectations. Get this ball if you're looking for an Eraser type reaction, only with more backend. Already a 300 in the bag for this ball, and hopefully, many more to come.
