We put ( on these balls on the lanes the same day it walk in
the door! And with no waiting we went to the lanes and bowled
5 games on our fresh league condition.

We used a Storm (Warm Front) drilling pattern with the pin above
the ring finger and the CG kicked out about 2" from the grip center.
We used a balance hole on the midline 7" across.

We wanted a go long, turn up hard drilling to help this one conquer
the moderate oil we find in most of our house league conditions.

We found out quick that this was too strong a drilling for this ball!
The "BOOST" is One Strong Ball! Great Traction, and strong turn!
We found that this ball does not need any help in a strong drilling pattern!
We suggest you keep it simple and let the Cover do the work!

The Hitting Power is tremendous! and Hard Hitting! Corner Pins? There won't be many with this ball if the lane oil holds up!

We had to play DEEP inside with this ball and it was easy to turn the
corner and get this one back! For those of you with average hand, and lack
of Rev's, this ball will make you look like Super Man!

The Boost will help any bowler conquer oily lane conditions!
But we will caution everyone that on a typical house shot,
you will need to put this one away when the lanes begin to breakdown!

Also, Storm says you can sand this one if you need more traction in oil!
This made us laugh, because I cannot ever see the need for that to happen with this ball for too many bowlers.

We will highly recommend this ball to all bowlers and to Our customers!

This is more of a 6 game opinion than a review but here it is:


Have the ball drilled with storms #1 drilling on the advanced sheet. No weight hole. I usually put a light polish on my equipment when i get them but i left this one in the 1500 sanded box shell. i expecteded the ball to over react on me but to my surprise it didnt. It had a very readable roll and turn to the pocket. im a 191 avg bowler and my first 6 games (in 2 different houses) were 214, 233,199, then 190 191 and 247.

ill write a follow up review in a month or so when i get it a little more broken in.

this is my first storm purchase and so far it has exeeded my expectations and would purchase another storm product with hesitation

This and the Blaze are my two newest toys from Storm. I carry these along with a Money for my 3 ball line as of now. I need to add a dry lane ball by the end of the summer, but anyway, on to the review.

On me, 18-19 MPH, a whole lot of revs.

After finding that my Columbia balls were quickly becoming too condition specific, I decided to go back to my two favorite companies in terms of consistency, Storm and Track. (I loved the old Thunder and the Sky Bolt)

I decided to get the Blaze and the Boost based on my love of my friends Eraser. After seeing the glowingly positive reviews here on both of these, I figured why not.

On the Boost, I drilled this thing up with Storm's strongest drilling. It is clean heads, strong midlane, huge backend.

Well, the Boost is all that Storm hypes it up to be. This ball will hook!!! I love this ball. There is no better ball that I have thrown for going through the soup than this ball. The greatest thing about it is its energy retention. Because it gives decent length, this ball hits like a TANK through the pins, even if you are playing the flood the entire way to the pins. Also, this ball is extremely adaptable on medium conditions. Just get left, throw right, and watch it turn the corner. Just an exceptional ball. I have already thrown my highest series, 846 (300,290,256) with this ball, and I have only had it for 2 weeks!

10/10 Buy this ball. I have never thrown better! This ball even makes the Blaze, another exceptional ball, look pedestrian. At these prices, everyone, and I mean everyone, should have both of these balls in their bags. Just get a Boost for heavy oil, and get a Blaze for skip/snap. I don't foresee you being disappointed.

out a slight bit to the left.this ball is controlable, easy to modify and above all hard hitting. So far after an adjustmnet period of 2 weeks i have shot 3
back to back 700,s I have had no night under 600. If you like power with control this is it.PERIOD !!!!!

    This is an update to my earlier post of the Boost.  I will keep this one short and sweet.  I used the Boost for all 3 games of a pro-am this past weekend, and it worked beautifully!  I was playing inside, bellying the ball between second and third arrow (RH), letting it slide out to just inside of first before it came flying back and destroying everything.  I only shot 650 scratch, but that was due to an unfortunate pocket 7-10 in the tenth frame of game 3, which forced me to only end up with 183 for that game.  Anyhow, I placed 23rd out of 100, which while not great, still was a cash for me.  This ball hits like a freight train and can be an excellent ball as long as you know how and when to use it.  I now think that this ball is about an 8.5 out of 10, and I am satisfied with my first Storm purchase and optimistic about my future purchases of Storm equipment.

Storm Eraser Boost

I got this ball BECAUSE I had already gotten the Blaze, its "companion" ball, and had become totally fond of it. My idea was to get both, with drillings which would complement each other, particularly for "Sport"-type conditions. My example was unusually long-pinned (4-3/4" from CG), so I laid it out with the CG on my PAP and the pin over my ring finger, X-hole on axis. Ball ends up about 1/2-oz. positive with a trace of finger weight.

I was initially somewhat disappointed, on "house" conditions (read: WALL), because the Boost seemed considerably WEAKER than the Blaze, both in overall hook and hit. The literature and numbers indicated I should have expected the opposite. But on this condition, with both balls in out-of-box condition, the Boost went further down-lane, finished more weakly, and did not hit as expected. In fact, it was a guaranteed weak-10, sometimes an 8-10. So, I hit the Boost with #800 wet-sanding in 2 directions and ran back to the lanes.

That did it.

With this relatively-small change in surface, the Boost performed EXACTLY as expected. It hooked earlier, and a bit more, but in the same sort of controlled arc that the Blaze produces- and it HIT like the Blaze, too, which is to say, HARD. And the two seem perfectly complimentary-- when I line up with the Boost, it's about a 3-4 board move RIGHT to use the Blaze on the same trajectory. On longer oil patterns, when the Boost starts to grab early, the Blaze drops me right back to flush, with little or no adjustment. Perfect.

So, I'd say the Boost is a 7, since it does require "tweaking" to get the performance it claims, at least for someone as "rotationally-challenged" as I. But if you tweak it, it performs beautifully- and you would have real trouble doing half as well for this price!

I have only used it twice and Iam sold on it. Three weeks ago in the state tournament in the singles event(the lanes were hooking) I used it for the first time drilling the ball two days before. The ball is drilled to arc and stop. With the pin 1 1/2" away from the PAP with a weight hole on my PAP to bring the side weight to 1/2 oz. The ball was great, getting it ready for the ABC tournament. This was the only ball that I used at the ABC's. Tried to play the gutter the first game in team shot 183. Moved inside to about 13 14 out to about 8. The ball arced real nice and stopped at the backend and shot 279 278 the last to games of team event. In doubles and singles I used this ball and it made the turn but lost some of the carry from the night before. Still shot 2006 with the ball. For the price of this ball it would not be a bad ball to put in your bag.
