With the success I had with the street rod pearl, I couldn't wait to throw a more aggressive version of it.  WOW, was I impressed!!! I drilled it with a 4 1/2 X 4 with a low hole.  My axis is 4 3/4 and 1 up.  The pin was drilled out to smoothen out the reaction a hair and it is still very angular down lane.  The lane condition I bowled on was a house shot and on Viper.  Once again a super clean read through the front and a very aggressive yet predictable reaction in the back.  For that price point, no other company can compete...  Bowl Up A Storm!

I will be comparing the Fast to the Street Rod Pearl as this is the replacement. First off, I really like the SRP, and was very anxious to get the new Fast with the stronger R2S cover. Both balls are drilled with the pin on my grip line, and cg kicked to half arc, half strong. Both have same cover stock prep. To start, I was playing 15 at the arrows, going out to about 5 at the breakpoint. I was bowling on our house condition, and it was a fresh run from the night before, so it had plenty of time to mellow out. The Fast rolled better through the front part of the lane, while still getting to the same hook spot as the SRP. At the breakpoint, the Fast was a little smoother, while the SRP had more angle to the pocket. The Fast will handle more volumes of oil than the SRP, with less squirt.

The next game, I changed my release to increase my axis tilt (more spin through the fronts), and did not see a huge difference in the way the Fast read the front part of the lane. The Fast now saved more energy for the backends, and really stood up strong for a much heavier roll into the pocket. I was amazed at how strong the Fast rolled through the pins. With this release, the SRP was now two boards left at the arrows, and was weaker through the backend. I had to square up my shoulders to get the ball to roll over target, and roll up to the pocket, while leaving seven pins.

After comparing the Fast to the Street Rod Pearl, I really like what I see. The Fast will handle more oil, and even out the conditions better than the SRP. The ball looks and smells great. It looks like the old Hot Rod with the silver and crimson red. This ball has great shelf appeal, and has great performance at the price point.

The Fast is a great follow up to the Street Rod Pearl. Taking the same core and wrapping R2S around it has created a reaction that fits nicely in the Storm lineup.

The fast this ball fits under the Rapid Fire Pearl which is stronger than the Street Rod Pearl as far as total hook goes.
The Fast is definitely the cleanest ball through the front part of the lane in Storm current lineup other than the tropicals.
Storm have continued their  tradition of value & performance.

Adding this ball to my Storm collection (El-Nino 2000, Triple X). It hasn't seen yet the conditions in which it would excel (Mid Oil to Dry) But if its reaction in heavy oil gives any indication as to how it will do, Impressive. I have only seen in 8 games Heavy Oil and this ball reacts very well. I leave the boards from the right on 5 and sweep out to a breathtaking 2 before the ball comes back in a moderate to agressive move to slam the pocket hard. Pins scatter for their very lives and the ball. In heavy oil I guess I am un Up and In bowler. I have to hold my breath as this ball reacts to my release, I swear it's going to gutter. But it just rides the edge and makes the turn when the oil thins, in the backend I could not ask for better action. It clears the rack well every time. The other thing I love about this ball is the smell. Black Cheryy or Wild Cherry, whatever, it smells incredible. Can't wait to get on a lane that's broken down to near dry. Even as a stroker I will be moving left, A LOT.

First thing I noticed was the Fast & Furious are extremely different. The Furious rolled sooner and smoother. Fast was very clean through the heads and very angular on the back part of the lane. I was practicing on fresh house condition and at first i was throwing lots of strikes with both balls. However very quickly i struggled to keep the Fast in the pocket. I had to jump quite a bit right to get the ball back into the pocket. On high volume house patterns the Fast seems to be very sensitive to transition down the lanes. The Furious stayed strong the whole time. I compared the Furious to a similarly drilled Dimension and found the Furious slightly cleaner through the heads and more continuous.

Condition: Kegel Challenge Pattern - Route 66
This pattern is very long with a good amount of oil in the middle of the lane. The Furious matched up perfectly. It gave me a strong and continuous roll and i was able to use it all 4 games of our league. I shot 226, 214, 268, 238. I was surprised that i didn't have to switch balls as the condition broke down. I was able to move inside of 20 my last game and the Furious still cleared the heads and retained energy to maintain carry.

After league several of us decided to pot bowl. After a few games i brought out my Fast and was extremely surprised by the reaction i got. The Fast is the cleanest ball through the heads i've ever thrown from Storm. The pair we where on had a lot of breakdown through the heads and a lot of carry down on the back part of the lane. The Fast cleared the heads effortlessly and still responded with plenty of energy on the back. This ball is going to be a great 2nd shift ball!

Overall
The Fast and Furious are two great balls from Storm. I personally liked the Street Rods very much and didn't think these balls would be a huge upgrade, but i was wrong. The Furious could match up against any dull High Performance ball and the Fast is probably the cleanest and most angular ball on the market. I'm already ordering more of each!

   The “ Fast and Furious”

      Great names to replace the Street Rod Series and the ball reactions is even better.
                        After receiving these balls from Storm I mulled over the idea of various drillings and even drilling the same as the “ Street Rods”.
                         Both balls had similar pins and top weights and with the same weight blocks, we drilled them the same and what a great idea.

                    Drilling with the pins at about a 1:30 position, box finish 15lbs 4oz and top weights of 3.87 and 3.80 respectfully and pins at 3 to 3 ½. No extra holes needed.

      Both balls are very easy to control and they read the midlane so easy with a backend strong to the pocket.
                         I used both on the Cheetah pattern and its awesome to control the lane, just had to watch them coming in behind the headpin which left that pest of a 10 pin.
                         I have used the Furious on several sport patterns with very good results, but it’s not as aggressive as say the “Virtual Gravity”

      Storm has given once again the bowler some great equipment in the “ Fast and Furious” that can handle most of today’s lane conditions and it is in the mid price range.

I was unsure of what to expect with the Fast and Furious with these layouts. The Furious is a very aggressive ball through the heads and the Fast is very long. I drilled the Furious to transition pretty quickly and the Fast to be roll early and smooth. I was not disappointed. The Furious, while it did transition, quickly was still smooth and controllable. Compared to a different Furious with a low pin this ball tended to lock up into the hole a little better in carry down. The Fast, drilled to roll in the heads was very aggressive and since it stores so much energy, in had a lot left on the back. This ball will be ideal for generating backend on longer patterns.

Threw both balls in practice. The Furious had a slightly better look as i was able to control the hole lane better. The Fast was a little too aggressive on the back for the fresh condition. Started the first two games well, 225, 221. At the end of the 2nd game and beginning of the 3rd game i started leaving corners, so i switched to the Fast and moved deeper. The ball read the midlane great and had plenty left to carry the 10's. Shot 235 and 269.

Overall
The Fast and Furious are two very dynamic balls from Storm. You have the freedom to try many different layouts and you won't be disappointed.
