Ball Review:
I tested the Intense on a fresh THS (Typical House Shot) and this ball reminds me of what we saw and continue to see in the Code series. This ball perceptibly went long and was angular off the spot. It did pick up sooner than the Code Black and provides nice continuous motion off the back end. I instantly got left (for me) with this ball as I would start around 23/24 and use 10 as my break point down lane. I was targeting 17/18 at the arrows.
The transition with this ball was quick as I started migrating inside after a couple of shots. I was quickly doing 2-1 adjustments and opening my angles as I continued throwing shots to maintain the pocket.
The Intense will be great for those who want a strong asymmetrical ball to start the night off with. It will provide length, angle and continuation at the pins.
The layout I used for this ball is 60x4x30.

The Storm Intense is going to be on a lot of racks at your neighborhood league. Storm has found the ability to provide house bowlers something that helps them score. The ball is clean out of box so no fighting to get it downlane in the track. It chugs and turns heavily into the pocket all on its own without needing to give it tons of hand. Due to its strength downlane, you will find miss room as well. For those of us that bowl on sport shots, the Intense is also an intriguing ball. For the high rev bowlers, they don’t have to touch the surface. Just use it as the edge is knocked off the shot. For medium rev bowlers, putting even just a little surface on it turns it into a beast that is super predictable in the midlane but still aggressive downlane. This is going to definitely be an option for me on longer patterns like Scorpion. So there you have it. You can decide if this ball makes sense for you but right now every one of our testers had something positive with the Intense.

The Intense is a great progression from the Code Red and Code Black. The Code series balls are must have bowling balls, but sometimes aren’t quite strong enough for heavier oil conditions. The Storm Intense fits right in to solve that problem. It rolls earlier and has a strong midlane roll than the Codes. It has a continuous backend, but isn’t too sharp downlane. The Intense looks a lot like the No Rules Pearl, and it comparison has a similar motion. The Intense is just enough stronger than the No Rules Pearl. Compared to the Storm Snap Lock the Intense is a touch cleaner through the front and a little slower on the backend.

Storm Bowling continues to push the boundaries of
ball reaction with their new release, the Storm Intense. The Intense might be the best example of what most have come to think of as Storm Performance. Clean and Strong down-lane if there's a single word to describe the intense... it's DYNAMIC.

The Intense features a great core and cover combination. The RAD-E is the next evolution in the Radial Accelerating Disk technology featured in the original X-Factor and more recently in the Code series balls with their RAD4 weight-blocks. As stated in the release about the RAD-E: "The “E” stands for ENERGY as the elongated ellipses near the pin increase the separation of mass as well as the potential energy"


Wrapped around the dynamic RAD-E core is the R3S Pearl Coverstock featured on the Snap Lock. I was very excited as the Snap Lock was my go to for covering boards with power and the Intense is that quantified. The Intense will cover boards and make that big turn back to the pocket on as heavy or heavier conditions than the Snap Lock. You can count on the Intense to get there and when it does... the pins don't stand a chance.

I tested the Intense on a condition that has held my scores down most of the season. It plays flatter than your normal house shot, creating little room for error. The head oil tends to go away quick and the outside oil keep you from being able to simply amp the speed up and overthrow it. In short it traps you into an area inside and forces you to make alot of adjustments. I hadn't been able to throw the same ball for three games all year, until I punched up the Intense. Throwing the stronger balls tends to make the moves come sooner and then create the need for still more adjustments. The relative flatness of the pattern can make them seem anywhere from tricky to impossible depending on how I tried to play them.

The one thing I didn't think was possible was to overpower the conditions. The Intense changed that. I never lost the ability to get the ball through the head oil and the dynamic down-lane motion allowed me to still make small misses and see the ball recover and take down the pins. First trip out with the Intense I shot 100 over my average and finally felt like I had a handle on things.

The Intense is my new go-to ball. This is ball encapsulates what has made Storm the absolute juggernaut of the industry and will continue to do so in the future unparalled innovation and performance. #stormnation

The new ball in the Storm Premier Line is the Intense. It come with a new RAD-Eâ„¢ Core wrapped with the R3S pearl coverstock. This is the same Cover that is on the Snap Lock. I drilled mine 4 x 3 x 30 pin down. This is one of the strongest pearls I've drilled yet. Out the box this ball reacts really quick to friction. I actually had to put some surface on this ball to smooth it out. This a great ball if you need a ball with a stronger back end motion than the Code Red.

I drilled the intense the same way I drill all of my bowling balls.  Pin up,45x4 1/2x 40 On this ball I put the weight hole by my thumb.  The intense is the first ball out of my bag on a fresh shot.  I roll the ball down the outside.   It rolls down the lane and turns left when it hits the dry areas.  I have shot set of 729, 729, and 750 out of the box. When the intense starts to hook a little early I go to the code red and roll the same line.  If you like the code line you will love the intense.  I' can't believe that I have not shot 300 yet using this ball.  I have shot(2) 279 leaving the seven pin.  Several bowlers have asked me about the rules of the pearl because of the color.
 Several people want to try it out especially the ones who roll the ball down the outside.  I would recommend getting this bowl and use the Roto Grip and see how the ball reacts rolling it.  I'm a Stroker without a lot of hand so the ball can do the work.

The Intense contains the brand new RAD-E Core and is surrounded by the R3S Pearl coverstock. The Intense is factory polished at 1500 grit which gives the ball length and a strong move off the breakpoint.

In the Premier line this fits perfectly as a move up from the Code Red. The Code series is great, but the covers sometimes aren’t strong enough for volumes of oil. The Intense’s R3S cover reads the lane a little earlier but still has a strong midlane roll. It has more of a continuous backend shape that isn’t too sharp. The closest thing in the Storm line to the Intense was the Snap Lock since they both shared the same cover, but the Intense’s RAD-E core stores more energy than the Snap Lock ever did.

If you need a strong aysm pearl, you need to drill an Intense.
