Threw a practice game on synthetics, THS (but a little long), fresh. First got lined up with my Track Freak Out (pearl light-particle, skid/flip), around 10 to 7 with a late break. For fun, I first threw the Special Agent in the same area for comparison. Didn't really hook much more than the pearl, but started earlier and hit real flat. But that's not why I bought it. Began to move in, and things just got better and better. Found the sweet spot throwing around 18 to 13, with lots of forgiveness either direction. Threw one or two way wide and it stormed back and blew apart light hits.
Next, Monday, first league night on wood lanes, THS with flood inside of 10 and snappy back ends. Typically, because of the flood, most guys are forced to play in the track area 10 to 5, which is usually good for a game-and-a-half until the heads dry out. My goal with the Special Agent was to be able to find a way to get inside of the track area to avoid the break-down, over/under nightmare. Started around 16 to 12 and did OK, but I think I was still in just a little too much oil down lane. The ball was flipping pretty late and not quite getting into a heavy roll. Still, I was in the pocket on every shot, but left a couple of ten pins and one pocket 7-10. I found that this ball really likes to hook. Kept adjusting and found the angle by going around 17 to 10. The ball would find the friction, make a pretty strong move, and then roll hard. Again, very forgiving, at least two boards either direction. Ended up 221-238-300.
As everyone else has said, this ball does not seem to over-react, just a very strong rolling arc. But you definitely need oil in the front part of the lane. Three games doesn't make it a great ball, but so far, I'm in love. Hope it lasts...
