Wow!!!

This ball amazed me several minutes after I got it drilled. I was a little late to league and out of the box I shot 712 with this ball. Games of 229, 236, and 247. Then pot bowled afterwards and shot 247 and 222. This ball rolls great and if you think you missed outside, well just watch it come back and blow up the rack sending pins all over the place. Great carry and hits like a train. I cant wait to see what I can do with this ball after I practice with it a little.

After owning (and dearly loving) an original Thunder and then a Dark Thunder, it was just natural that I would want to try the Thunderstruck line. I picked up a slightly used Thunderstruck off these boards, and slapped a Rico drill on it because I was wanting to try the Rico as much as I was a Thunderstruck.

It turned out to be a good choice all the way around. The drill is perfect for this ball with its proven, symmetrical core. First night out, the ball had no polish on it and as a result, the coverstock was much too strong for league work. Some polish fixed that.

This ball with this drill revs up quickly, is smooth through the front and then in the mids, begins righting itself and makes a deliberate, strong move to and through the pins. Carry is something to behold. It reminds me very much of the original Thunder back when it was first released, but obviously, this ball is much stronger and handles today's oils well.

Strengths: Versatility, takes surface adjustments well, good carry, predictable move to the pocket.

Weaknesses: Not for dry lanes, at least not with a Rico drill on it.

Final analysis: The perfect league ball for most. Players of varying rev rates and speeds will be able to easily adapt this ball to their game. Snatch one up before they're all gone.

I drilled this ball up last week with the pin 5 inches from PAP and cg 3.5 inches from PAP.  This ball is very underrated in my opinion because it had the exact shape I was looking for smooth through the front part of the lane with a nice pop off the spot.  This ball is going to be a great step down from my dimension when the dimension is rolling up just a little too early.  This ball gets down the lane easier than any other ball in my bag.  I have a ball speed around 18 mph and a high rev rate, so alot of the time I have to throw it harder on shorter patterns.  With this ball I don't see a problem with it getting down the lane.  

Dislikes:
This ball is alot more hook than I thought it was going to be. I also think that for me adding surface to this ball would make it tough to get down the lane
