This ball is very smooth and for it to be a low end ball, its very strong on the backend.its a nice addition to have to the bag when everything else is to jumpy.Went 300 first nite had it drilled.Has very good carry, you wont be dissappointed with this piece.

Bought one last night hoping to have a medium/med light oil THS ball.  Our house shot (unless they changed it) is med/light but 41ft long with plenty of back end most of the time.  I wanted this ball for length and then a good, strong turn.  Boy did I get it.  I actually got a little more than what I needed....not a bad thing though.  I usually bowl up 10, swing it out to 5 -3 and have it come nicely to the pocket.  I had to move inside to around 28 and throw down around 12 to past 5 or it would hit high.  Very strong move, not really angular but continuous through the pocket.  Carry was great and pin action was really good.

I put decent revs on the ball but I'm not a cranker.  Ball is drilled with pin up and right of the ring finger with a weight hole that is slightly offset from the PAP (for a little extra flare according to my pro shop)

Length is good and the ball doesn't mind my med/high ball speed either.  This is something I was afraid it wouldn't like.  I can roll slow and smooth but at 6'4" and 310lbs I tend to throw hard at times.

This is my first Storm ball and while I'm having to throw it from about where I stand to throw my No Mercy I learned the reaction after a game or two and really like it.  I really don't feel comfortable bowling that far inside but I want to learn to increase my versatility.  This ball really hooks and is controllable.  That's what somebody like me (in my 4th year of bowling) is looking for.  I'm 45 and bowled 15-20 years ago, and took it very seriously even as a hobby but only took up sanctioned league bowling in 2004.  In those 4 years I a few 700 series (high 738), my first 300 game in April this year and carry around a 199 average.

If you want a strong, but controllable ball that works on THS conditions I can recommend the Street Rod Pearl.  Another thing I like about it is the fact that it comes factory 1500 sand & polish so if I want to add length I have some room to play with it.  Go to youtube and search street rod pearl and you'll see it in action there and it's compared to the Street Rod Solid.

I'm anxious to see this ball on slightly heavier oil patterns because I think it will handle them well also.  PBA Experience has started at my house and I plan on using it on those conditions.

Get one of these.....good and cheap.  Can't beat the price for performance.

My Street Rod Prl has a 4 3/4 x 4 layout with a hole on my axis.  It compliments my solid street rod very well.  When the solid tends to pick up a hair to soon due to the surface I have on it, I can switch to my prl and stand right on top of it and barely have to move.  These 2 balls compliment each other very well, and are a great buy for there price range.  No other company on the market has more bang for your buck then Storm with the Street Rod... HIGH Performance, for a mid price

This is one of the best balls for the price range out there today.  I have mine pinned straight above the bridge with cg kicked out a little.  I love to use mine on the fresh when other equipment is just too strong.  The pearl can go straight up the track or I can use it to super-loop the house shot.  It seems to keep the pins low for me, alot like the Paradigm did.

Great compliment to the Solid, another great Solid-Pearl combo from Storm.

I finally got completely fed up with all the rollout that all my equipment was giving me, so I decided to start a transition to all Storm equipment. This is the first of two Storm balls that I now own. I took it out of the box and was very surprised. The ball actually did what it was advertised as being able to do. It got through the heads and snapped on the back end. It is best for medium-light oil. Great for the end of a set. It holds its energy better than any other ball that I've owned. I tend to use it for the third game of my set after the Dimension gets to be a little too much. And unlike other companies' equipment, no rollout! And best of all, it possesses a quality lacing in most modern day equipment, it does what you tell it to do. All in all an amazing ball from Storm.

See stats for profile. Drilled one to try out.

Lay Out: 5" from PAP over my ring finger at a 75* angle. This would be a 75/5/35 dual-angle drilling. I have put a 7/8" weight hole on the axis to liven up the reaction in the midlane.

Surface: I have been leaving this at 1500 box Reacta Shine.

Purpose: To give myself a ball that could be used on burnt patterns and ones with lower volumes and shorter distances.

Initial Observations: I have tried this out on some house conditions, our PBAX and Sport league patterns, and PBA Central Region patterns. This ball is a little stronger with the factory polish than I anticipated. I pulled this out on Viper in league and had no problem getting it to read the lane early enough to carry on Pro Anvilane. I also pulled this out for a regional on wood that used the Viper partern. This ball read early enough that I had to separate my feet more than normal and I struggled getting consistant carry. I was having a tough time getting the ball to lay off even when increasing the speed or flattening my hand out.

Final thoughts: This ball is a good replacement for the discontinued Jolt series. Good cover (Reactor-same cover as Spit Fire,Domination etc.)along with the medium/lower diff core. Heavy handed players will be able to supply the power to make it hit harder. Tweener players might have to knock off the factory shine so it slows down the snappier read of the Reacta Shine polish. I am going to hit the cover with 4000abr to smooth the polish off, but not to dull the ball and make it read too early.

Another good release from Storm and should be great for lower/medium shorter patterns.

See profile for stats.

5" x 3 ½”

This ball is great for drier lanes.  I typically use it late in tournaments when the shot moves way inside.  The Street Rod pearl with this drill pattern has decent skid yet still hooks off the spot.  Carry hasn’t been an issue as it generally gets the corners out even at tight angles.

This ball is also very good on house patterns when you have to take the down-lane angle out of the scenario.  Playing up the lanes when the oil volume is lower usually pays off well.

I would recommend this ball for players having troubles with finding a ball that plays well on dry lanes and still can make a corner in tight inside situations to get the corners out.

My street Rod Pearl gets me down the lane when the track opens up.  This ball is very predictable.

My Street Rod Pearl is laid out 4 ½ X 3 ½ with the pin over my middle finger.  This ball has no X-hole.

This ball hooks a lot more than anticipated. I was looking for a ball that would be less than my Storm Shift, the Street Rod Pearl hooks the same amount (used the same layout with very similar ball specs). I was not impressed.

I threw about 20 games on it, now it sits on the rack in the basement.

Halleleujah!

15lbs
4.5"pin
Drilling: Pin over bridge, cg kicked right about 2.5"
Cover: 1000 abr

This ball is absolutely great. It delivers as advertised. A great control ball for medium- light conditions. I haven' shot a game under 200 with it yet. Extremely smooth and controllable, it responds to release changes very well. The hook on this ball is smooth and reliable, never squirty. I always know what I'm going to get, downlane.

My last four sets with this ball have been 708, 686, 671, and 681. Great piece to have in your bag, once lanes have tracked up severely.

Bowled against a guy who was using three different Reigns on our pair. He kept trying to downsize his ball reaction as our pair got chopped up, but the Reign has an extremly strong reaction downlane. He finally ran out of lane and inside adjustments,as well as balls he had at his disposal, whereas, all I did was move left three and two, and was right back in the pocket! Meanwhile he continued to go thru the nose!

I advised him to get one of these and put in his bag, pronto! The ultimate control piece. Reminds me a lot of the control I used to get from my old Messengers I had, back in the day. Way to go Storm!

Most Excellent, another hard hitting Storm product. Bought it used to fit under my Furious and it's a perfect match. It's my first Pearl and I LOVE IT. It'll hit hard swinging it from the edge or playin inside when they're just breakin' down. If you have one to sell, hit me up. I want another for back up just in case anything happens to this one.
