It's been awhile since i posted a ball review:
I purchased this ball in new condition just this wednesday,
Ball specs:
15-pounds with a 2-3 inch pin
I basically was drilling this ball for more of a flat heavy oiled condition, but i used this ball on medium heavy condition or medium condition.
I basically was trying to get a feel of this ball, and i broke this ball in today at a tournament for south florida masters.
I bowled the first squad and i barely broke 600, and that was because of own fault. Then i bowled the second and final squad for thursday night, and i moved to more of an inside shot more of a fade back shot and proceed to bowled a 290 game which of course i broke the jackpot for around $281.00, wow the ball paid for it's self already.
Basically this is a solid ball, but you have to be ready to move quickly when the lanes tend to break down. I look forward to purchasing another one with a weaker drilling and plan on purchasing the first x-factor.

The x factor deuce, wow what a ball. Iam a 187 avg bowler and my brother holds a 172 avg. We both just picked up the deuce from Joe cerar pro shop in milwaukee, WI.My brother shot his first 600 with it (624)and I shot my 5th 700(712)the first night with the balls. If you can only buy one ball this one this should be it, hits like a TANK. It rolls out really nice, very perditable reaction. It doesn't matter if you rev the hell out of it like I do or down and in like my brother this ball is the best piece I have ever thrown in my 10 years of bowling. Its helps to have the best bowling ball driller in the world Joe cerar at bowlers pro shop Milwaukee WI..........

If I had to recommend the Duece or the original X-Factor I would say the Duece.  Need a bit more length?  Just throw on a coat of polish, (like I did).  Rolls out smooth with a very predictable reaction on the back end.  Still trying to understand drill patterns but at least the pro-shop guy does.

Lane condition:  Fresh oil, christmas tree league pattern.
Drilling:  Ummm....  45 degree, pin 6" away from PAP (center of palm).
Style:  Tweener, 15-18 mph.

This is a quick update on the Deuce:
Like i stated in my pervious post i basically just purchased this ball and i broke it in a south florida masters tournament; We'll this ball is basically just plain awesome, and i will purchase another one plus the x-factor.
I basically finsih this tournment in 3rd place (mostly due to working over 10-hours prior to the semi-finals) but i bowled well enough to win over $800.00+ which included scratch and handicap pots.
Wow this is the first ball i ever purchased that in a short period of time, paid for it's self over and over again.
I've basically in the last year or so, purchased balls from columbia to lane #1 equipment, so now i'm basically staying with storm because the reaction and roll reaction fit my game to a tee.
This ball is a winner.

great ball even though it is a little expensive. i got mine for 220 and thats the lowest i have seen it except for online. anyways this ball is a great ball, my first game with it was a 258 and ever since then my average has gone up at least 4 pins in each league. i had this ball polished because it was a little too much hook for  me in out of box condition. i would suggest this ball for anyone who likes the first x-factor or just wants an all around great ball.

got a deuce this week and used it for the first time last night.

specs are:
16lb
2.5inch pin
2.5oz top weight

my experiences with the newer balls have told me i dont like anything drilled too aggressively so i had the deuce drilled basically over label. pin ended up next to ring finger and the RAD was in strong position right of thumb.
Had my driller shine it up since out of box would be way too strong with my game and the shot i throw on.
ball does exactly what i wanted. very controlled look and clean through the heads, it doesnt do anything crazy and is very readable. hits likes a mac truck.
this is the first storm ball i have ever thrown. i have thrown columbia exculsively for the last 10 years or so, i am very pleased with this ball and might even start buying more storm stuff. One major complaint i have is the smell......the deuce smells like blueberry.....very annoying to say the least,
during and after league last night, my hands, shirt and bowling bag smelled terrrible...way too strong, hopefully this goes away with time. i am clueless as to why they would do that.
other than that-----excellent ball.

I know popularity of a ball doesn't necessarily make it a good one but during league last night, (second shift), 20 lanes of 4-person teams, on each lane I counted at least 4 Dueces either on the ball return or in someones bag.  I tend to walk around to see what people are using.  The Duece and the original X-Factor is the ball of choice.  I mainly use mine on second shift leagues so I polished it up out of the box to give just a little bit more length and shot consistent 220s during practive before the leave and a high 6 for my league series.

Pin 2.5 to 3 in
Drill: Label Leverage
Lanes: Oiled 34, buffed to 38

I used Black Magic to polish this ball up and went out to the lanes. Started out with a 265, then a 244 and closed with a 224 for a total of 723. I have two more bowling houses to use this in. So far the ball even in a polish state rev's up in the mid-lane and gives you a steady, but impressive movement to the pocket. I only left two ten pins in the whole set. This ball just may make ball of the year for Storm.

I think the X Factor Deuce is a good ball because i was throwing it saturday and it would come back into the pocket and hit hard. But I would stand all the way to the left side and it would roll 18 boards.

firt time i ever bought a storm ball. I always used ebonite or columbia. anyway my avg is 202, fast ball speed medium to high revs. I bowl on wood lanes medium oil with alot of carry down. the ball is 16lbs, 2 1/2'' pin, pin is slightly to the right and below ring finger, with the cg kicked out to about 3 o clock. balabce hole on my pap, rad mark below and to the right of thumb hole. now for the bowling. used it right out of the box, i hated the ball, hooked early, lost energy, didnt have a good roll to it. back to the pro shop, shined it up and what a different ball. I can play almost anywhere on the lane and the comes back. I can swing it to the gutter and it comes back, play in the middle and belly it out a little....it comes back. on my first night i shot 615, not great but it was because i was missing spares. left 2 tens entire night. i give this ball a solid 9. stronger ball than my aggression, better hitting than icon 300.

I have one of these balls for sale at my white trash shop for $189.99 with drilling included.  No one appears to be interested in this one, but I sold approximately 15 original X-Factors.  It smells better, but does not have the appeal of the original X-Factor.  Perhaps, it is because it looks like the La Nina (what a terrific ball that was!)???

Someone tell CaughtbyStorm to get to work or his pink slip will be waiting in his four ball Storm bag!

I drilled up the Duece 3 weeks ago and just love it. First night out was on our sport condition (not a typical sport shot-lots of oil outside and on the heads but still strong back ends)Shot 300 & 779. the ball allowed me to play very deep and not let the ball get outside. I missed outside 3 times for opens. since then I have used it on our league shot(Dry outsides medium heads flying back-ends)I played deep inside line and had room to the right but couldn't pull it. I shot 2 more 300 and 792,770,755,737 and a couple more small 7's. My Duece has a 2 1/2" pin which is located under my middle finger with the cg swung out about 1" and the rad in the strong position to the right of my thumb. I through it in out of box state it reads the mid-lane very well and doesn't over react. I have thrown most of Storms equipment and I rank this one of the best. Great compliment to my X-Factor and Eraser. I give it a solid 10.

I picked up the ball 5 days ago. I ordered it specifically for a particular tournament - the lanes in the host house are absolutely flooded.

I was thrilled with the ball. Drilled with layout 2, with a small weight hole to keep it legal.

I figured I could use it for around 3-4 games last weekend, at that tournament. I used it for 9 or 10. The only time I got into trouble was when I tried to put it away in the third game...

anyway - used it again last night in league - hooks way more than anything else I own. Came out of the gate with front 10-289. The ball opened up the lane like nobody's business!!! It was really fun.

And - as a comparison - I practiced with the ball in my 2 night a week league house. The lanes there run a lot drier than my other league house, where I bowled well last night. Anyway - My "normal" league shot is to release around 14, out to 8-10. With the deuce, I was releasing around 25. Over 4th arrow at the arrows, out to around 10-12 before it drove back into the pocket. Hard.
I give the ball 9 out of 10 - the only point it loses is the smell.

This is my first review and I probably will not be as tec correct
as some.
Received ball Monday. Pin is located above ring finger with cg about
3 1n out with a weight hole.( long and flip ). Lanes are synthetic
oiled to 35 1/2 ft. buffed to 40. heavier in middle tapered to
light on outside, no wall. amf oil which means lots of carrydown.
first throw on tuesday. one practice each lane, turned on lane
got first 9 on way to 278. followed with 236, had to leave to let
people who had reserved lanes in. next day 2 leagues 656, 636.last
league fri. 2nd shift. 636 and should have been better except for
my bad throws. this is in spite of fact I have gone from 201 ave
last year to 185 last 4 mo since abc cracked down on all lanes in city
since abc is in town. hardest moving ball I have ever seen. will reach
pocket when others will not. carries heavy and light. ball is being
thrown in box condition. best I have ever had , would recommend to
anyone. p.s. a better bowler, a young guy that works behind the
counter at our lanes took this ball to a scholarship tourny out
of state and had 3 800's on wat to the win.

I wanted to wait till I bowled in all my leagues before I put up a review. Not real good with tec but have the pin under and to the right of ring, cg is in the palm and mass bias 2" from thumb on the right. goes long and snaps! On Thursday I had a 788 with a 289 230 269 med oil with carry down. Friday early squad normal league chirstmas tree 680 211 235 234 if I could have picked up a spare it would have been a 700. Friday late squad sport shot 647 221 213 213, had to keep the speed high and hand behind the ball, it let me know if I was soft on the speed. Sunday night they were bone dry so I left it in the bag.
Love this ball!! I give it a 9.99 out of 10
P.s Didn't wait to bowl on wend. but with a butter shot on that league I should kill them.
