Great ball. I like this ball better than the original. I polished this ball before I drilled it because I knew it would be so strong. Drilled 3x5, mass bias in the track. The ball clears the heads well with polish on it and revs up for a heavy mid-lane roll. I have scored well with this ball hooking from sixth arrow or piping it up gutter. The deuce carries well on most conditions, but loses a little too much energy if you try to play in the desert with it. I hit a real flood with it Monday night and could not get the ball to wrinkle during practice. I hit it with some grey scotchbrite and it started hooking at the dots and rolled out just past the arrows. Bad mistake. I'll have to keep it shined up for my game. All in all another great ball from Storm.

Sweet ball from storm, drilled them up 5x5 and took one to 2,000 polish and left the ther one with box finish. On the house shot (42' tapered) I had a lot of push and a great backend reaction with carry from hell.
On the PBA pattern C the ball would not push and the backend was so extreme that a soft hand wouldn't even work. The out of box and polished seemed to read about the same.
On the ABC condition the ball removed the OB and opened the lane up an extra 8 boards, the box condition worked best on this one.

In the summer I put out all 3 conditions on Wednesday and even the lefties enjoyed this one. I run a league that bowls on 4 PBA patterns switching every 4 weeks and open the ABC tournament condition to practice on.

I've finally broken in my press at the house...thank you KMart

Drilled this up after bowling a tournament a couple of weeks ago.  I've had the problem of when I miss, I usually blow through the breakpoint.  I got to talk to a college buddy, Steve Todd (now a sales rep for Storm), and he got on me about my layouts.  He said I was a big dummy because I drilled all my stuff to go long (5 X 5, high pin) and complained about throwing the ball through the breakpoint.  He told me that for length, I need to put the pin closer to the axis and go for a smooth reaction.

Here's my first test with this in mind

Specs:
15 lb.
3" pin
3 1/2 TW

Drill specs
3 X 1
Weight hole and RAD on VAL
Box finish (sheen, 1000 grit)

OK, Steve was right.

This ball is awesome.  Smooth through the heads and kicking in the mids and backends.  The Deuce really revs up off your hand and does exactly was it's supposed to, read the middles.  Pretty strong for a reactive, I would rate it a hair stronger than the V2 Solid with a similar motion.  As with all Storm equipment, the heads are a non-issue as it glides through them with ease.  I was really impressed at the Deuce's versatility.  On a 38' sport shot, I was able to play right up the ditch and had a smooth even look.  Carrydown finally got me, but it played most of the night.  On the house shot, the Deuce looked manly.  Swinging 15 to around 5 the Deuce turned the corner, but never jerked.

I just picked up another Deuce today and will drill it a bit stronger (probably leverage) and kick up the cover a bit (600 grit).

Overall, a ball I would highly recommend to crankers and tweener for an all-around ball.  As for strokers, this could be your "A" oil ball.

this ball reacts very differnet than the original. i hated this ball out of the box. i struggled with this ball and continue to do so on the christmas tree house shot. this ball rolls very early. i no longer have problems getting corners out on excessive carry down as this ball picks up the slack. i sand this ball often to keep it at 1000 grit. this gives me a very consistent reaction on most sports shots as well. as stated before this ball tends to roll earlier so avoid forcing this ball on dry lanes, because it will lose its drive.
4 out of 10 on house shot
9 out of 10 on harder conditions

Just like a lot of bowlers who posted their reviews on this site, I'm a newbie. I am just so amazed with the performance of my new X Factor 2 that I wanted to share my experience with it.

May X Factor Deuce is 15lbs, with 4.04oz top weight (had a balance hole to keep it legal). I am right handed and I had my ball drilled based on the maximum hook layout. Our center has Brunswick synthetic lanes, oiled by a Kegel machine. The pattern is usually xmas tree, medium-heavy oil, 38-40ft.

I had 8 strikes in a row the first time I used my X Factor Deuce. I had a solid ten on the ninth frame then punched out for a 279. Not bad for an out of the box condition.

The ball really hooks and hits massively in the pocket. I was able to have a wide area which I couldn't do before with my Brunswick Deep Purple Zone Proactive. I stand on the 23rd board and pass the 2nd arrow. The Deuce carries well. I could see the ball move faster as soon as it hits the dry part of the lane.

Overall, I love this ball on medium to heavy oil conditions. On dry lanes, it looses its power.

I bought this ball about 6 weeks ago to combat a veritable flood condition in an upcoming tournament. I posted a previous review right after I got it. Now, here's the follow up after I've had it a while.
This ball is awesome. It's drilled with the storm layout for maximum performance on medium/heavy oil. This ball is not a hook monster for the rev challenged, but it moves. And it moves well. The ball is a great complement to my Reaction Rev, X Factor, and Smash/R.
The only caveat I would give any user is the following - KNOW WHEN TO PUT IT AWAY!!! The ball is not the strongest I've seen for lots of carrydown. But it does open up the lane!
I suffered badly from new ball-itis the other night, and refused to put it away. 289-228-194. Sigh. The ball quit carrying when carrydown became evident, and I refused to put it away.

Okay, this is my first review.  The particulars:

16 #
3" pin
drilled 4.5 x 4.5
RAD in line with pin and cg
weight hole on VAL

Lane surfaces bowled on: Wood/Guardian, Wood, AMF Synthetic

I've had this ball for about 6 weeks.  I had it drilled up for the National tourney in Knoxville.  I kept it at box condition and found it to be a hook beast that would roll out more times than not.  My scratch league recently had a cash tourney to end the season and my team was in the final after going thru round robin undefeated.  I tried different releases more rev/ less rev, more roll/less roll the ball was just too much for the conditions.  We rolled on three different pairs of lanes and three different patterns.  The lanes are a guardian/wood combo.  I was able to get to the pocket but I could tell it was just hitting real soft ( roll out ).  When we came back to roll in the finals I wet sanded it down to 600 grit and lightly polished it.  WOW what a difference.  Nice skid in the oil, when it came out of oil it turned to the pocket like a guided missle, and hit was stronger than I could imagine. The 2 pairs of lanes we rolled on were soaked.  I was able to choose any line I wanted as long as it was up the boards.  I opted for going up 9 and had scores of 238-257.  Although we lost both games by less than 10 pins, I was very pleased with this ball.  I was getting messenger pins ( I never get them ) and found that hit I had been searching for.  The Duece was clearly the best ball on the lanes that evening.  This ball is definitely for oilier conditions. I am able to play from 16 board out to the gutter, either swinging the ball slightly or going up the boards. If they're medium, PUT THE BALL AWAY.

What a ball from Storm!  I bought my XFACTOR II from the Storm booth at the ABC Nationals in Knoxville, Tenn.  Didn't use it too much there, but since I got home and had a chance to get used to it....WOW!!!   This ball is tremendous on both oily and medium oily lanes.   Mine is pin-in, drilled straight up, with a balance hole.   This ball turns the corner effortlessly, and when it hits the pocket, it absolutely explodes!  The carry is impressive!   Shot 280, 256, 233 with it in a summer league the first time I used it.  The ball performs so well in fairly heavy oil, that I'm buying a 2nd one this week.  I love the smooth, powerful turn it makes to the pocket.   I'm a stroker, so those of you who are stokers really should try this one.

when i got this ball it hit hard bu didnt hook that much because it had a lot of surface and the house i bowl at has alot of oil most of the time.i have the ball drilled kinda aggressive.when the ball was out of the box it left alot of 8 and 9 pins so then i polished it up and it has been a monster.it just about hooks the same on any amount of oil.now the ball hooks out the building.i have had a couple of 8 pins but thats ok as longs as i kno im hitting the pocket.when i get 9 pins standing the always seem to get tripped.this ball also leaves a lot of pocket ten pins when  come i come in with a lot of angle or ecause of the hard hitting power.i hve this ball 10/10 good work by storm i might buy the re-loaded for the fall season

I got my X Factor Deuce about a month ago and had it drilled 3x4 with the cg almost dead center of the grip and the RAD slightly below and to the left of the thumb, no weight hole required.  I was almost ready to sell or trade this ball because I couldn’t get it to move off the break point at all.  Seems like it was losing most of its energy before it hit the break point.  Before I made the decision to get rid of it I decided to take a green scotch brite pad to it.  I scuffed the ball parallel to the track and then polished it with Storm’s # 1 and 2 polishes.  It now reacts like a totally different ball.  It almost out hooks my X Factor.  Now when this ball hits the pocket the pins just fall all over each other trying to lie down.  If anyone has had similar problems with the Deuce I’d suggest taking a scotch brite pad to it and then polishing it.  Great ball Storm!

i got this ball near the end of may.
pin to the right of ring finger.
cg to the right of my thumb above it.
rad is under my thumb. extra hole slightly under thumb to the right
i first threw this ball at secoma lanes and surprisingly enough the ball didnt go to the left gutter. i found a shot and i crushed the pockey almost every time. this ball carrys a lot. it also hooks on medium to oily conditions. i used it on my tuesday league on the dry shot and i shot i think 210 or something. then i threw it on the new oily sho and shot 220. so i think this is a good ball.

im 12..
average is around 190-200
shot 289 on a sport league.
won all stars
my balls are: White Dot black silver caramel,
Monster Frenzy
X-Factor Duece.....all 15lbs

2.5-3" pin, 2.86oz top, drilled pin at about 2:30 to ring 3 3/8", CG 3 3/4, RAD in thumb, 3/4oz pos. side weight, 1/4oz finger weight.

This ball does for me what no other ball ever has, it allows me to swing the ball a bit, I was throwing over 15-16 at the line, 11-12 at arrows out to about the 7 at break point. Ball saves energy much better than I expected for a ball that rolls so heavy in the midlane, I was concerned that it might not hit as hard as my other balls which are all 15#, concerns are long gone cause this ball crushes the rack harder than either my Shock Trauma and Boost do. It not only hits hard but I have never had so many messengers, the pins stay low and spin all over the place. I have only had a chance to bowl 7 games with it so far but in those games I have averaged 21 pins higher than normal with a 213, 256, 275 / 744 first time out of the bag. Second night out was on medium condition with slippery backend and was a bit dry for this ball but I still had a 788 4 game series, 219 average for the 7 games I will take that any day. I think after getting the X Factor core in my system I am going to have to run out and get the X-Factor and X-Factor ReLoaded to complete the arsenal.

Update:
Bowled on Medium/Heavy synthetics tonight. Played straight up 9-11. Ball works good on this condition, but I had to reduce speed and axis rotation to get it to roll early enough, the hit was awesome though especially considering the speed I was rolling it. I think if I changed the cover to around 600 wet sanded it would match up well to this condition as the break point was about 3'-5' later than on medium/heavy wood before I changed speed and release.

wood medium/heavy fresh backends-averaged 248 for 3 games
wood medium with fairly bad carrydown-averaged 197 for 4 games
synthetic medium/heavy fair backends-averaged 196 for 10 games 204 1-5/188 6-10

Another excellent ball from STORM, had this ball drilled using STORM drilling pattern 1(B) by Mike Miller(PBA) at 10 Pins & More In Rio Rancho, NM (His Center).  This ball is excellent on heavy oil, have yet to try it on any other patterns, but I assume it will need the surface altered to cut down on the hook to be effective on anything less than heavy oil.

Drilled up my Deuce last week and am very impressed so far. The ball rolls up a touch earlier than my original X Factor with the same strong backend. The ball is devestating from an outside line but unlike the original it still hits from an inside line. The Deuce is a perfect complement to the original X Factor and the Eraser Pearl Particle. When the Eraser rolls up a little too early and loses backend, the Deuce is there to make up for it. When the original goes too long, the Deuce picks up a little sooner and creates an awesome reaction. This ball gets a 9.5/10 because no ball is perfect.

Likes: The turn and drive at the breakpoint. Ease of getting it down the lane. And as always the wonderful smell of blueberries when I open up my bowling bag.
Dislikes: Out of Box Surface and Dry Heads

16 pounds
Top Weight: 3.66 oz
Pin out: 2.5-3 inches
Ebonite Factory Finish

This was the first Storm ball I drilled up in about two years. So I was alittle apprehensive before I put holes in it. But man, am I glad I did. I layout my Deuce 5 1/2" strong, this put the pin above my ring finger and the RAD about an inch or so right of my thumb. I finished up at a 1/2 positive I didn't have to take a hole out. I threw my Deuce with the out of box finish out in league, and I kept getting crossed up. I couldn't find the breakpoint at all. After league I went back and polished it up with Ebonite Factory Finish. What a difference. I went back out and saw a totally different ball. I could easily feed the ball the ball down the lane, and I knew exactly where the breakpoint was going to be. This ball does not quit when it gets to the breakpoint and makes its turn. It has such a hard rolling move that it I just love. Also on heavier oil, even with the Ebonite Factory Finish, the Deuce was very powerful cutting through the oil. As well as retaining a nice move on the backend, without sacrificing hitting power. I have to say that I am very impressed with my Deuce it's great multipurpose bowling ball. I can play coast to coast or straight up the gutter if it is there and I won't loose any hit.....if you have any questions just email me....Good Luck and Good Bowling.
