I just got the deuce and i can say that storm done good. I am more of an up the board player, i can swing it but i think the best shot is down and in and the deuce has let me play that shot. It gets through the mid lane clean and saves up the power for when you need it when it hits the pins. I also changed the cover of the ball i used black magic polish and shined the ball up, it gave me more control so i could miss and still not worry to much about getting into trouble for such a good ball storm

WOW...it's amazing....here are the specs
5x4,1/2
3in pin____________O--0-Fingerholes
16#________________*- Pin &- Center of Gravity
___________________RAD= Rad

....... *.....
....0..0.....
...............
........&.....
...............
......0.RAD.....

Even with the lengthy drill and the fact that it is POLISHED...it still hooks out of the house and it is so amazing, the carry is awesome...wow you just have to get one to experience it...I start at 25 roll it at 22 goes out to 10 and has a real aggressive arc to the pocket and once the ball hits the pocket, see the pins fly...

Its a good ball if you get it drilled right. The ball has the atendensy to die at the end of the lane if there is to much oil out there. The Ball is Great dont get me wrong its a great ball! The ball is great if your a person who throws the ball from one side of the lane to the other buy huging the gutter like me then the ball would be great for you! I give this ball a B+!

I have had my Deuce for about a month now, Great Ball. Drilled it up with a strong aggressive drill to handle wet lanes. Has a beautiful even arc and just crushes the pins. You must have some oil in the heads or this beast will hook off the lanes. If you have medium or better Revs and need a strong even ball this is a must have.

I have had my Deuce for a couple of month now . Nice reaction from 20 to 10 back to the pocket. Left few 10 pins , made ajustment . The ball at that time was polished . Now I have it in box finish . Love this reaction better for oily condtion . The other day practicing, standing on 25 swinging out between 15-20 out to 10 and it's exciting to see the ball reading the lanes, perfect shot. That game 254 . Total rating 9 out of 10 . The polished condition I will give it a 8.5 .

Hey, i just got this duece about 2 weeks ago, i have 12 games on it. The ball was drilled to go long, then hook at the end, which it does have alot of backend. I can ajust real well with this ball at the night goes on and the oil pattern starts to break down. I have done alot better with my Track Freak, but after i get used to it, and learn the ball better, i will be shotting better. My aveage with THIS BALL is 180. Overall a good ball

I posted a review about a month ago about the ball and now with some more games under my belt i think it is time to post another one. The ball is AWESOME is hits hard it carries like no other ball I have. for me the ball is best for med to heavy oil but i can through it on any condition. the pin is above my ring finger the cgs kicked out of the palm of my hand and the rad left of the thumb. I have shot big games and some nice series with it i can say that storm is my number one choice in bowling equipment.  thanks storm

I am not sure of the specs on this ball but I had it drilled to go somewhat long, best ball I have ever used for a fresh house shot, I am sad to hear that they are discontinueing this ball, although there making another ball that resembles it( I heard deuce coverstock and a Fear core), but anyhow this was a great ball!

I'm quite a ways behind in the times with this review but I figured what the hell and since I wrote it in BBR I might as well put it here too.  These were my thoughts when I used this ball in the summer.

Lane Conditions: Medium Oil
Typical Conditions: Variety of Shots
Type of Lane: Combination
What part of the lane did you play? Third Arrow
Did the ball track out? Slow
Weight of bowling ball: 16
Surface of bowling ball: Sanded
What grit was the surface of the ball? 800
Likes: Early rolling, smooth backend, big hitter, nice and controllable.
Dislikes: Carry is a little suspect, drilling lay out made the ball a little weak.

My Deuce is 16lbs with a 3-4" pin out distance and it's drilled label, with the RAD in the track. I wanted the RAD in strong position, but anyway the Deuce rolls strong for a resin, it's also very even and controllable. It plays straighter up on heavier oils pretty well, just keep the speed consistent and it will arc into the pocket. Unless you like to cover alot of boards it's not recommended to play on lighter oils. Although the Deuce doesn't have any trouble getting up and arcing back into the pocket if played deeper than the 4th arrow. The hit is pretty explosive but the carry is a little suspect. All in all this is a pretty good ball for a bowler who doesn't like particles and needs a early rolling piece of equipment.

**Sorry but this is a little late**
above avg speed, med-hi revs, RH
Drilled Storm layout 4
Lane Conditions: Medium Oil (as usual)
Played 12-8
Weight of bowling ball: 15
Surface of bowling ball: 1000 Out of box
Likes: Controllable.
Dislikes: Rolled too early, very weak backend and weaker carry, left way too many 10 pins.

Some of this may be that it doesn't fit my game. It might react better to a higher rev player with less ball speed.

5 out of 10

This ball was drilled to flat out hook.  I won't get technical...it just hooks! Me and some buddies went to a place up in north jersey that was pretty wet.  I was leaning up against the ball return and hitting 3 and just kinda watched it come soaring back.  It's like oil is just no worry anymore.  This ball is fantastic for oil but as soon as it even dries up a little...put it away.  I'm thinking about waxing it and getting the Xtreme...for no reason.  10-10

Likes: it has a nice overall hook. the ball is always dependable and works like a charm.
Dislikes: i hate blue-berry, if u have the ball u know what i meen

i like the ball alot. it is always dependable . i always use this ball. i have had this ball for a acouple of years now, kept it in really good shape and it has always pulled through for me,(through the pins to), but there isnt much that i dont like about this ball, i have always bowled really good with it. when i thorw the ball i always hook the ball alot, and the ball just absorbs the oil like a sponge.the ball likes to dig in alot and is a very stable ball. i can always control it because i use magic, just kidding

Check Profile for Specs
Ball: X-factor Deuce (2 inch Pin)
Drilled:  Pin 1/2 inch to the right of the Ring finger Parallel with fingers.  With CG and RAD Stacked right below in a straight line.  Used quite a big weight hole 2 inches past the PAP I'd GUESS 1 inch bit about 2 1/2 inches deep.
Surface Prep: 1000 Grit sanded
Games on ball: probably 250 or more

Things started out kinda funny with this ball. Got it right before the Gold tournament in St. Louis, didn't have a chance to throw it before we left.  I did get a chance to throw it right before the tournament in Shelbyville Illinios, at Shelby Lanes.  Lanes were absolutely toasted, I couldn't get anything to stay right of the headpin.  Finally said well lets go ahead and see what the Deuce will do, not a good condition to test it out on but o well.  So I pull it out.  try to play 20 at Arrows to like 10 breakpoint.  and the ball doesn't hook.  figured maybe it rolled out but it sure didn't look like it.  So I moved inside some, played 20 out to 13.  Ball all of a sudden makes a move towards the pocket and CRUSHES the pins.  end up shooting 670 for 3 with the ball on DRY lanes.  I always had a problem with getting it to carry 10 pins and 7 pins out.

It never was a good heavy oil ball for me.  and after a while it the hook it had just vanished,  So I had the oil taken out of it and got it resurfaced, still nothing.  Ball had just Died, never had a ball die quite like it.  especially a reactive.  but the ball lost all of its hitting power, carry, and hook potential.  Same thing happened to my friends.

Overall, it was an all right ball, but I wish I would have gotten something else.  it smells good.  thats a plus .  Ball was really inconsistent for me and everything.  If I had to give it a rating I'd go 6 out of 10 and part of that is because I rolled a 300 with it and because of the smell.

I got this one used off a BallReviews member, because I've always liked the X-Factor series and never got the chance to try a Deuce.

The ball came very roughly sanded, which I didn't want. So we took the surface up to 1000 Abralon and then polished it heavily.

The ball has about a 3 inch pin. In its current drilling, the pin is above the ring about an inch and a half, at about 1 o'clock to the ring finger. The CG is under the ring about an inch and a half.

My first impression of this ball is that it's going to be super on a house shot. My first game was 255 and I was able to play in, out, down and in, wherever. The ball makes a very strong move to the pocket when it hits dry, but it doesn't overreact or get wild. With the surface in the condition it's now in, the ball makes a power arc move in the back. Carry is superb -- this might be an old ball, but the core in this ball is not very different from the Paradigm core.

My next test usage was on a PBA Regional shot league, pattern 3. I played over third arrow, out to about 10 for the first couple of games. At the start of the third game, the shot broke down a little and I was able to go out to 5 or 6, and turn the speed up a little.

During the first two games, the ball gave me a very rolly, even reaction. Not a lot of snap until it was right in front of the pin deck. During the third game, however, I was able to open up a little more and have a little fun with it.

I got the chance to test this ball side-by-side with a Depth Charge and a Dark Thunder on both conditions listed above. On the house shot, the Deuce really outshined the other two balls. The Depth Charge was having problems with the wet-dry line, while the Dark Thunder (sanded to 600) just was too strong. On the PBA shot, though, the Depth Charge was stronger in the back end and more angular, while the Deuce was a smooth roller. The Dark Thunder was still a bit strong -- similar to the Depth Charge, just stronger all over -- as we were apparently on a low-volume version of Pattern 3.

In conclusion, the Deuce is more than enough ball for any house shot, and is still viable on tougher shots. Like most Storm balls, the cover is infinitely versatile. The roll is very predictable, and the core, which was way ahead of its time when it was made, gives you above-average carry. These balls pop up on eBay and BallReviews from time to time, and it would probably be a good investment.
