*~SECRET AGENT VIDEO is HERE!~* from videoballreviews.com
« on: August 07, 2007, 06:43:03 AM »
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LasB8MmaSzo

It is being hosted on youtube for now (i have been fighting with putfile for a day or two now with it)...so eventually the quality will be a little better

And i will be embedding it on my site later tonight!  I will keep you all updated...

My take on this ball:

This is one of the strongest rolling balls i have thrown in a LONG time...it gets into a real heavy roll at the end of the pattern and absolutly just sends pins everywhere...and with surface changes it is VERY versatile...this one will definetly be in my bag for the tougher stuff as it is very consistent off of the dry thanks to the light particle load...

Any questions just feel free to ask!

Finally saw the video ball review.  I like it!  It is pretty thorough with the different balls and surfaces and everything.

Jk,

For the most part, it is a heavy oil ball...it may need a surface adjustment down to 2000 or lower for it to be a true heavy oil, but it handles its fair share!

From what little experience i have had with storm so far i would put it somewhere above or below your shift depending on what condition you are bowling on...the shift will have more backend on most shots but may skate a bit too far on the heavier volumes and carrydown, which is where you could go to the secret...it will definetly handle more oil than your domination tho!

Hope that helps

When I am playing on my heavy volumes and lengths, the Domination really dominates over the Shift.  I did hit my Dom with a burgandy then 1000 abralon, so that may give it a better read and carry.

But even with this adjustment, even the Domination has a tough time on some longer, heavier shots and most PBA (I am a stroker, but playing right to left is a bit exreme).

Here is the order of use on PBA patterns: Domination, Shift, Ace, Spare Ball, Vertigo (Does Not Fit), Flash Point (Never really tried using it)

My main goal with the next ball I get is to get a ball that:
1) Is a ball that has heavy rolling ability
2) A ball that comes off the spot really really nice and just heads into the pocket strong.
3) Open up the lane some more.

We will see, its all up to Storm at this point...so if you enjoyed this video let them know, and that may persuade them to do more!

That describes the secret perfectly...you may want to look into getting one when the time comes!

I will call up Jaros' Pro Shop next week to get one drilled up.  I am on vacation for the next week, so no go now.  But ya, what do you think is a good drill-generally speaking because well-I don't remember my PAP and span.  45* drill with a what?

i have had this ball for a month and its nowhere near as good in oil for me as u guys i have played with it on fresh ths on broke down shots on 35 foot shots with clean back ends. had it taken down to 1000 and its still nothing like the video or anything like what u guys say. so i am really confused. if you say its not a hooker u r right but i was hoping for something with storms notorious backend and this ball is miles from that. I think i am going to try some polish and if that doesnt work it will be a basement ball until i decide what to do with it. i dont think its worth redrilling . my pin is 1.5 inches and its drilled with the pin under and right of the ring with the cg stacked.

I am not sure what the oil lengths were on the video but I thought they were something like 38 and 42.  Also, I don't think the video made it look like a big backend ball really...  Maybe you should try the polish?

This ball is certainly not a "Big Backend" ball...it comes close as you can see in the video with a coat of polish over the 1000 grit, but still it is very controlable....

Try the polish as it may be burning up and let us know how that goes toomanytenpins!

My thing was I don't think the video ever showed it to be.  Maybe with the polish but even then it seemed really smooth.

Agreed, sorry i should have explained myself, i was comparing it from 4000 & 1000 to 1000 and polish as being more angular...not up against like a black widow pearl or something else that looks like it is kicked left in the back

Hello Group,

..."Big Backend" ball

Out of the balls mentioned here which are the Storms "Big Backend" ball? just wondering as I am now gonna try a Storm ball and I do want a ball that will

go flying left for me when she hits the dry (I'm playing in a good med-oil shot)

P.S. I am thinking about the Domination

TIA

I am not sure about that but if you try making a new thread in the Storm forum I bet you will get some more responses.  I don't know if the maximum amount of people are going to see your question buried in this thread.

I am usually trying to control the backend...

Good Choice Jake, It may not "peel" off the spot like you are thinking (make sure you have enough oil) but it will certainly move on the back...after you see how great the special is you may want to get a secret to complement it!
