Hi all,

I'm proud to present to you my new Storm Reign video.

Or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bJTrhlx96w

I had no idea what to expect out of this ball when I got it so I drilled it exactly like my favorite hy-road.  I haven’t been this excited about a new release in awhile.

This ball corners hard and just keeps coming.  The continuation from every angle is awesome.  Very clean through the front part of the lane, with a wicked move off the back of the pattern.  I have thrown this ball for a few weeks now including in 2 tournaments, and what I absolutely LOVE about this ball is the ease in which it handles transition.  Just keep moving in cause this ball is going to round the corner.  The easiest way to describe this ball is a combo of the t-road pearl and the rapid fire pearl.  It reads the middle part of the lane like a t-road but is as strong if not stronger than a RFP in the back.

Compared to a few other pieces, the Reign is cleaner through the front than a hyroad and much more angular in the back…in fact in the video I had to play deeper with the Reign because it is so much stronger downlane…on more volume the two flip flop and the hyroad forces me to play deeper than the reign.

Compared to a virtual energy for me the reign is longer and stronger off the back but weaker overall.  For example a few weeks ago my VE was reading the lane too early so I switched to the reign.  The Reign pushed through that spot and allowed me to stay in the same part of the lane.

I cant wait to get more of these and try different layouts and surfaces.  I think this ball will work for bowlers looking for a long and strong reaction that they can stay with through transition.  OOB this ball should handle all mediums with ease.  Once again Storm has done a great job fitting in a piece that compliments the rest of its already solid lineup.

Thanks for reading!

Question. Isn't this ball basically a Rapid Fire Pearl with a slightly weaker core? The cover, rg, and diff numbers are nearly identical....

HAMMERDOWN!!!
As Britton said in the first post, "The easiest way to describe this ball is a combo of the t-road pearl and the rapid fire pearl."

I showed the video to my mom last night to see if she had the same thought I did.  And yes, she did.  She immediately said it looked an awful lot like a new version of the old Fire Storm, the only ball she's ever shot a 300 with.

How does this ball compare to the bedlam? I know asked the same for the hyroad but I wanted to know if these two balls would be to simialar to get them both or if they would work good together. Thanks

Bowling This Month magazine described the Bedlam as a skid/snap monster in their review this month.  This ball has a much smoother roll.
