need help on choosing ball.
« on: October 29, 2006, 10:55:28 AM »
hi i currently have a shined scorchin' inferno and bvp ambush. i need a ball from storm(as i'm not very impressed with my bowling balls) that hooks less, goes longer and has a good skid-flip reaction. i have decided to get 1 of the thunderstrucks. however, i am not totally sure about my decision and would love some help from you guys! any suggestions?

thanks folks.

fired up is an amazing ball, and it will go longer and it will flip a hell of alot more than anything you have.

nope. the ambush is pearl particle and the scorchin is a way strong reactive. you will be fine with it.

For most bowlers, the Fired up is not a good outside ball. Please tell us more about yourself, you game, and the shot you bowl on. This will aid in helping us suggest something for you.

A Jolt or a Hot Rod hybrid will be alot better selection for an outside ball if you are like most bowlers.

I agree with slop, if you are looking to go up the outside fired up is not what you want it is more of a swing and bring ball.  The jolt pearl is probably a better choice for up the outside and it has a hell of a back end on least mine does.  It is by far my favorite ball right now, It gave me the outside which i havent been able to play in some time now.  So I say jolt pearl, Pm me if you have any other questions I have all the storm balls.

i'm a righty, stroker, with medium revs, faster ball speed and my track is about 1 inch from thumbhole. my balls are 15lbs. scorchin' drilling is sth like this
---F-F-0
---------X
-----cg---
----T-----

ambush drilling is sth like this
         ---0----
         --F-F----X
         ----cg--
         --------
         ---T----

so you guys don't think the thunderstruck will be a good ball? Thanks a lot for your help by the way

Thunderstruck Pearl will be weaker then your Scorchin' but probably comparable in strength to your Ambush. TSP is very versatile and you can move in hook it or go straight with it.

But if you need something weaker to play out in the dry with, the TSP might be a little strong. In that case I'd go with the Jolt Pearl or even a Tropical Storm.

Thunderstruck Pearl would be an excellent choice for the outside line.

Seen both, both play more outside, as I understand you want, IMO, the Jolt Pearl does a better job here, of the two. Both are drilled close, both guys are similar releases, but as I say....that's here, just passing on info, maybe it'll help.
