« on: January 17, 2009, 03:43:45 PM »
ive seen both balls thrown both in house and at touneys but i fail to see a real difference. how do the two differ? and wut ball would be better for a lefty with medium speed and revs who needs a strongs ball in the beggining of the day?

Virtual Gravity is going to look like its hooking more due to its sharper turn on the backend. The Dimension will get into roll earlier and make a smoother turn on the backend, both balls will have nearly identical overall hook, though the reaction shape will differ.

OR you could just drill that Cell Solid you got off me to go over your Cell Pearl

magic mike is absolutly correct.  I would disagree with him about the cell comment.  the VG and Dimension will outhook that cell by a lot.

I've thrown the Dimension and Virtual Gravity back-to-back, and there's a night and day difference.  The Virtual Gravity is much, much, much more angular than the Dimension.  THe Dimension is going to roll more constantly through the pindeck than the Virtual Gravity which tends to hook and straighten out some.  Also, the Virtual Gravity should hook several boards more than the Dimension depending on the condition and the bowler.

Dan: For my own information and possibly others, how are the two drilled for you?

Virtual Gravity was an Open House ball (I got to throw about 8 frames with it).  Pin was centered under the bridge just barely below the fingerholes, key was in the thumbhole or just below it.  No x-hole.  My Dimension has the pin up over the ring finger, also no x-hole.  With my PAP (5 1/4" over, 3/4" up), these are both somewhat weaker layouts.  And even with that, the Virtual Gravity at 4000 abralon was still hooking too early for me.  I would have needed to polish that ball up like a marble to get a good look on a house shot basically.
