Has anyone had issues with Storm Balls cracking? I have a buddy that just bought a Nano about 3 weeks ago and it has cracked from both sides of the pin and wraps around the fingers. The last Storm ball I had bought new was a VG and I had no issues with that.

The only Storm ball that I remember being notorious for cracking was the original Paradigm.  Besides that I haven't heard of a major problem with any other ball.  Did he contact Storm?  They may do something for him because it is so new.  If he got it online or in a pro shop he better bring it back.  I'm sure they'll do something for him.  It is only 3 weeks old.


Balls in the bag and order they come out:
#1/2 Nano and Anarchy #3- Virtual Energy   #4- Gravity Shift #5- Big Hit (spare and really dry)
#6- Teal Rhino Pro (oldie but a goodie)

 I have three virtual gravitys. One cracked alll the way around the ball.

I haven't heard any major issues with cracking on the Nanos.  It happens, take it back to the ball driller and they'll probably replace it (unless you bought it online).

I can't say that i've heard of any cracking issues on any storm balls besides the original Paradigm and the Agent series and they weren't even that bad.  Tell your buddy to contact storm and they will replace it.

I have a Nano that I used for 6 games in Reno.   It has not been used since as it has a very strong drilling on it.  Tuesday, I was thinking of taking it to the alleys with me to mess around as we have the league wrapped up.  When I went to get it, I notice the ball is cracking around the ring finger.  6 games on the damn thing.  I am not happy to say the least.  I am a big Storm fan and have about 20 bowling balls from Storm.  Never really had any problems with them, but this one pisses me off, as it is hardly used.  I think I will just sell the damn thing.  Just wanted to tell my story.  Not bashing Storm at all (still a Storm guy) just unhappy with the situation.

Wow, that's not great news.  I have had ten storm balls in the last four years and none of them cracked.  I used four of them in the last two weeks.

I have 4 balls, 2 from Storm and 2 from Roto Grip.  No cracking issues with any of them, including the VG Nano which has around 20 games on it now.  In fact, I threw the VG Nano tonight and had a great night in the summer league.

 

I'd get in touch with Storm and have them replace it.  The ball should not crack after only 6 games.

Pozz, I guarantee you that Storm will replace that ball for free.Stuff like that happens because it's just the nature of resin coverstocks, and it just seems to happen at random too. (I've seen undrilled balls crack on the shelves at pro shops!)

If it is cracking around the finger hole, and you only used it for six games, it sounds as if there is not enough bevel on the finger holes.

I would think that an individual with a cracked ball with very few games would contact their pro shop before coming on this site and broadcast the situation.
