Thinking about buying a passion
« on: June 29, 2008, 04:46:30 PM »
Hey, everyone. There is a pro shop that I go to and the guy has a storm paradigm passion on the shelf, I asked him what he would be willing to let it go for and he said $180, I thought that was too high for a discontinued ball. It has a 2 inch pin and the cg is like 1/2 - 3/4 inch right of the mas bias pin line. Well, I am kind of interested in getting this ball, but I wanted to know some suggestions on some prices before I talked to him any more about the ball. Please let me know what you guys think, thanks!

My buddy has one and loves it. Ive seen a few used ones on ebay, but that seems like a fair price for a new one. They are hard to find.

I absolutely love mine.  Never has a problem turning over and leaves very seldom corner pins.  Continuation through the deck is fantastic.  $180 is a reasonable price considering it's age.  I say go for it!

I LOVE MINE once again, too bad its pushing 500+ games. still carries though very well.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

Thanks for the suggestions, I already have a pro cg passion and with some surface it is wicked on the shark pattern, but I wanted to get another one to be a little sooner and more continueous. Well, I did think about asking him if he would let it go for $150, there is a guy that sells thumb slugs for 3.50 and finger inserts for 1.25 and so I could get all three for $6, so it would come to like $160 something? Does that sound a little better?

Btw, how do you all have your passions layed out? Mine is drilled with the pin above the ring by 3/4 of an inch, cg right below ring (has a 3 3/8 inch pin) and the mas bias way out just past the val or close to it. This ball revs up very easily and has a very strong move on the back end, not a really big hooker, but when I add a little surface, it hooks a lot more.

Mine is laid out pin under ring, 4.5 inches to PAP.  Mine is  Pro-CG and my CG is out right and pretty close to my PAP.  MB is below thumb, and to the right.  I had to get a gigantic weight hole to make it legal.  It starts up nice and early, and is so so continuous.  The best part is it doesn't OVER-react to the dry, it just sniffs it out, gets into a roll, and off it goes.

I think Storm equipment is pure gold drilled pin under.  They all get natural length, I don't need anymore.

When haggling for price, remember the Passion & Paradigm were the two most expensive balls out at their time.
