715T vs Nano vs Taboo
« on: March 01, 2011, 07:09:02 AM »
How do these compare to each other?

I have a 715T drilled 65x4.5x30 as my heaviest oil ball, Im thinking about getting another ball before Reno....

How would these fit in my arsenal?

If you aren't against plugging your equipment I would move the pin down on your 715T and drill up a Nano with your current 715T layout. It will give you two different heavy oil looks.

Yes think about pin positions on your layouts...pin up, pin even and pin down factoring in pin to PAP distances..  I think this would have alleviated your issue with the 607A SE if you would have gone pin down.

I'd definitely see the Nano in strength above the 715T.

I wondered why all your VAL angles are so acute?  Does this relate to your stats.?

All of these drillings were recommended by my proshop. I do not know all my stats...My PAP is 5 1/8th over and 1 up......15-16mph...350-375  not sure of tilt, axis between 45 and 60 I think. My proshop says I need help getting the ball through the heads, that is why the 60+ drilling angles, he also told me around 100 total angles +/-20. Since he has been drilling my stuff I have felt more comfortable reading what the ball will do, except for the 607A.. When I need the ball to read a bit earlier, I take the surface down a bit.

I have only had two balls pin down in my whole bowling career, A Cell and a Street Rod Pearl, both balls rolled up too early, even the SRP. So I had both redrilled pin up and had success with both.

I am just learning about drilling patterns after all these years. I always banked on my proshop to set me up a ball that would nfit what I wanted/needed.

I average 210ish just about anywhere and when i struggle its usually with my timing more than anything else. I did avg 218+ for a few years back in the mid 90's, then i quit for over 10 yrs. I just started bowling again in the  beginning of last bowling season
