accutread solid and pearl
« on: August 27, 2006, 08:29:34 AM »
I believe the only balls up to now that had the accutread solid and pearl were the

X factor Deuce
X factor (accutread mystic pearl)
Triple X extreme

Any other balls besides the new Jolts and the Hot wire that had accutread?  Leave out the particle please...thanks.

Jolt is columbia made so i doubt it the same cover, they market it as such but do not believe everything you read on here. The mission 35 x-factor is a pear praticle accutread based ball, i got one and love it.

According to Storm's site, the X-Factor "35th anniversary," which is the Mission, is AccuTread reactive pearl, making it an original X-Factor. I also have one of those.

Well the card in my box says pearl particle accutread so i dont know for sure and maybe the card is not correct or maybe the site is not correct ???

I can't find anything about Storm's 35th aniversery X factor on their sites.

Their keeps being some Agent guy and a very ugly looking brown ball next to him...
Looks a lot like my Hot Rod Pro Stock.

But if anyone has an X factor deuce for sale or X factor or one of these 35th anniversery ones....let me know!  Smooth stuff and a versatile mass bias!

Your guess is as good as mine. The only thing besides the site I have to base it on is that it's very similar to my original X-Factor in movement. It's a little more angular than I'd expect a particle pearl to be but that's not proof one way or the other.

At any rate, I love the ball.

Hmmmm?  My mission was to buy an Agent it looked like from their site!

Maybe each person is given a different "MISSION".

As long as it wasn't that double Agent...blah!

Well, if particle counts in, then any ball with the Pro-Thane coverstock has also an Accu-Tread base. Balls which qualify here are the Depth Charge, the Eraser Particle Pearl or the X-Factor Ace, and I am sure there are some more.
Accu-Tread was quite common, and nice that it has made its way back on new balls. Great stuff for medium conditions.

Even though Columbia is putting together the balls, the materials are still from Storm.  If I am understanding correctly, it would still be Accutread with a Storm  core.

MrBowlingnut, your information is totally off base. The Jolts and Tropicals are being made by Columbia, but they are in fact our cores and our covers. Our chemists went down there to set up the product lines, our materials have been shipped down there, and it is all of our materials that make up these balls. The only thing Columbia is doing is "assembling" the balls.

With our facility being a little smaller, it took a lot of time to change production lines. We were running multiple shifts in order to keep up, while Columbia had 2 extra product lines sitting dormant. This was we can focus on the mid-price up through the high-end and continue to bring you quality products

I know that there have been a lot of rumors floating around about Columbia making our balls, and we have even discussed this at many trade shows. The problem is that when somebody without all the facts starts rampant rumors, it snowballs into something ugly. The easiest thing to do is always ask somebody that would know the truth

oh and as far as the Jolt solid goes, i can see some similarities between it and the Deuce. As another poster said, knocking the shine off of it might make it very close to the Deuce. In my opinion, the Jolt solid is going to be a steal
